Never a foul on Harry there! You dont think the attacker jumping into the keeper and preventing him from collecting the ball whilst being nowhere near the ball is a foul? Eastern branch of the goalkeepers union!

Well done Salop, and ends the Spotland horror run.
Crisis averted, until the next defeat...

Workmanlike and utilitarian would probably be the fairest way to describe that. Despite it being two nil I'm struggling with whether or not we were the better side. On the balance of play Dale retained and moved the ball well, if perhaps came up short in the final third. Town huffed and puffed and were appalling first half but either Dale tired, or, more likely, we just found enough of a footing in the game in the second half. Whilst barely more enterprising than the first half we at least managed to retain the ball and against a side as poor as Dale keeping the ball was pretty much all we needed to do. Poor keeping for our first and poor defending for our second, but a win is a win and to be fair, we saw the game out pretty comfortably after that. Quite how this team would have fared against a better opposition is anyone's guess, but let's face it, we need to crawl our way past 50 points by hook or by crook, and then let Steve start planning for next season, and games like this are the perfect way to do that. I also said I'd judge our play off potential after these last four games, and absolutely nothing I've seen gives me any other view than this season is getting ready to peter out to lower mid table obscurity. Probably so, and given where we were a few months ago, I think we should all be content with that! 100% agree, I'm delighted after where we were when Sam was sacked.

Well done lads for putting that hoodoo talk to bed with a battling performance. It was not pretty but we defended well and showed some quality when taking our chances. Burgoyne had a couple of hairy moments but overall did well and that should give him some confidence. Good use of subs tonight I thought and hopefully a rested Chapman will start on Saturday and destroy Charlton.

we were fortunate to not get punished in the first half just dire across the board, thankfuly we did improve in the second half that first goal was precious and thankfull we got that vital second goal. 4 out a possible 12 points when playing three teams below us and at the time a fleetwood team just above is just not good enough , a concerning drop in form .just relived we got a win and three points nearer to 50 points.

Job done. Not pretty, but very comfortable since Daniels scored the first, that really knocked the stuffing out of Rochdale.
I thought the centre halves defended really well, including Williams who was on a booking for a long time. I am far from convinced about their talents in possession though.
Josh Daniels man of the match for me, he deserved that goal as he is constantly having to change positions as well as being hooked at HT on Saturday & left out all together at Bristol Rovers. He has a fantastic leap & is a tenacious little so and so. If he could get a run of games as a winger I think we have a rough diamond on our hands.
Special mentions for Vela, Goss & Whalley's assists also. As for Burgoyne, I hope to never see him in a Shrewsbury shirt again.

9 point gap again. Bottom 4 all lost. Not the bottom four at the start of tonight, Hugo. Swindon and Northampton in the bottom four because they lost.

It wasn’t a performance that suggests we are over our dip but hopeful the 3 points will signal an upturn from here.
You’re rarely that poor and win 2 0 but that says more about Rochdale than us really. That said, Whalley’s assists were top class, as were both finishes.
I can’t decide whether I should still be worried about the drop or not (just because it’s Salop..) but I do feel a lot more relaxed now we have ‘bounced back’.

Important to stop the rot after a poor week and it sounds like was a professional performance, particularly after taking the lead. I must admit that I had to laugh at the meltdown on facebook/twitter for the first half performance

I didnt think it was a foul at the time, im now convinced it wasn't
it was actually a brilliant attempt by the rochdale player, cant blame harry too much, he actually did enough to put him off, the effort wasn't going in as the defence was there, not the best game for harry but if I was in goal I d be mentioning clean sheet and 3 points to my critics now, he's not played since November and got thru the wake up call so maybe will be ready to go again next time

On the balance of play I am amazed we won that game and came away with a clean sheet, despite our keepers attempts to help Dale along
I am seriously concerned if Mr Sarcic is going to be missing in the coming weeks. We need a keeper ASAP
Much better second half performance and well done to young Josh Daniels

In the later stages the patient may even submit information and then deny it was submitted by them. The patient should be isolated and anything they claim should be disregarded. There is no cure.

What a rubbish night bar the result, to much deadwood boring hoof ball, Udoh looks out of his depth and i thought he was a positive last season, Ogbetta looked first class as he did on Saturday improving every game he's got to be worth money already.
Again we are missing a right back, who ever phoned in and gave Daniels Man of the Match was defiantly over generous, what i don't get is why play wing backs then play the long ball in the centre of the pitch, might as well have 3 forwards to have a chance of knocking it down to each other.
We did what Rochdale did to us earlier on in the season we outplayed them and got caught it was the complete opposite tonight. I suppose its the result that counts but I don't think we have really gone forward this season, almost season written off with 45 points still to play.
I wonder if we keep Williams which last season i would of said shut up he's good, walker has to go there isn't really a first team position for him, Love for me ok but i am sure there will be better. I think Vela is better with Norburn by the side of him, at least with Norburn we seem to have an idea how to play out from the back as he's always there to collect the ball.
Davies looks poor at the moment probably the only SC signing that hasn't stood out for me, looking forward to the who do we give new contracts to next month thread!

Brilliant result for Salop, gutted it's the first game I've not watched in ages due to work. Trust town to go and win.
