A team selection to suit the occasion. Rested players ready for when they are needed. Sorry not buying it, not playing your most dangerous player is no tactic i want to see. As we’ve seen recently playing the same side is suicidal and not sustainable , the word fine margins works every weeks we got lucky tonight , or did we get it right ? We won that’s all we’ll remember tomorrow

Hope I don't tempt fate but whilst its good that we have the win you just feel with the performance tonight, its a good job that we were up against the worse side in the division. Whether this will get things back on track and see an upturn in performances going forward I'm unsure. Its all been a bit meh.

Dale will hopefully push in a minute and we’ll break for an easy 3rd
Come on town 👍

As poor as we were first half our defence has been brilliant tonight.

What a masterclass this is, tire them out first half and punish them 2nd half! What a masterplan!!! Lull them into a false sense of security and then.... Classic hustle! Nicely done

Superb cross and a decent header, although if Harry had let that in we'd be crucifying him right now. that was terrible goalkeepering but relived we got a second

Typical Town. They actually finally win at Rochdale and none of us could be there to see it!

Workmanlike and utilitarian would probably be the fairest way to describe that. Despite it being two nil I'm struggling with whether or not we were the better side. On the balance of play Dale retained and moved the ball well, if perhaps came up short in the final third. Town huffed and puffed and were appalling first half but either Dale tired, or, more likely, we just found enough of a footing in the game in the second half. Whilst barely more enterprising than the first half we at least managed to retain the ball and against a side as poor as Dale keeping the ball was pretty much all we needed to do. Poor keeping for our first and poor defending for our second, but a win is a win and to be fair, we saw the game out pretty comfortably after that with some decent defending and showed enough to allow me to say we deserved the win.
Quite how this team would have fared against a better opposition is anyone's guess, but let's face it, we need to crawl our way past 50 points by hook or by crook, and then let Steve start planning for next season, and games like this are the perfect way to do that.
I also said I'd judge our play off potential after these last four games, and absolutely nothing I've seen gives me any other view than this season is getting ready to peter out to lower mid table obscurity.

Right as scripted , some of our fans need to calm down or they will be booing again without even knowing why

2-0 Shrews FT.
Didn't expect the win tonight and if you go by the 1st 45 mins then I'm probably not alone in the negativity. It really is a game of two halves!
Massive win for the team in the table and a clean sheet for Burgoyne which will give him world of confidence.
Next game is Charlton away on Saturday. I'll take a 0-0 draw right now.
For the time being atleast, I just want to enjoy an unexpected and very rare away win at Rochdale.

Well Job done, first half we couldn't keep the ball and we didn't trouble Dale at all.2nd half we kept the ball and looked for openings. We our chances and then defended well. Daniels my MOM but it could have gone to any of the back 5.

All about the result, but I thought our game management was excellent.
Daniels MoM for me. Some excellent tackles and got up and down his flank, fully deserving his goal.

Probably so, and given where we were a few months ago, I think we should all be content with that!

Never a foul on Harry there! You dont think the attacker jumping into the keeper and preventing him from collecting the ball whilst being nowhere near the ball is a foul?
