Too many delays, too much ffaffing about, they need to make Test Match cricket as slick as the ODIs.

Truly bizarre that Shagger Curran is on the bench. The selectors’ minds must be touching the void to reach that conclusion - he’s raring to go and fighting fit. Of greater concern is the reaction from my grandson when I have to tell him that his favourite isn’t playing. Am going to have to protect all the breakables in the living room based on his previous Shagger histrionics. You’ve got grandchildren ! Jesus Christ . correction : grandsignets!!!

Great conditions for Broad to exploit. I was about to say the same. Or indeed Woakes. Shocking selection procedure bearing in mind the weather forecast for this week, exacerbated by batting 1st.

Finally .... 34.3 ovs WI 102-2, Hope c Stokes b Bess 16 England needed that. Kraigg Brathwaite is looking very assured, 52* top scorer so far in this game. Ideal batting conditions too!

So frustrating after getting well and truly set for a decent innings. Neither Denly nor Crawley have yet to convince me. Let's see how they go this afternoon. Joe Clarke has been a complete idiot. Bad enough walking out on Worcs, but his involvement in the Alex Hepburn trial has more or less put him right out of contention at a time when there are places available at 3 and 5 in the England team. www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/28638915/if-go-back-change-happened-joe-clarke
