Who would be an opener.
That was some delivery to Rory Burns. I doubt we will see much more play today.
Can the captain's just not call it a draw 😉

BIG win for the Pears today away at Northants, go top of their group at the moment. They will be hoping for more rain at Edgbaston where Somerset are pushing for victory.

Some common sense, at last 😀
They now just need to sort out the issue with bad light and the use of floodlights.

Some common sense, at last 😀 Yes and no. Morning dew comes into the equation late August onwards. Makes for damp conditions early morning.

Just the one change for England, Jofra Archer in for Sam Curran.
Mark Wood will be disappointed that he's not been called up.
England win toss and bat first on a windy day in Southampton.

Excellent innings from Zak Crawley and great support from Jos Buttler.
That was a great evening session for England, really the game away from Pakistan.

Day 2. Didn't last too long before the wet stuff arrived. 95.4 overs - Rain. England 336-4 Crawley 171* Buttler 91* I'm chomping at the bit waiting for what could, potentially be huge scores for both, imagine how they must feel. Only highlight so far, Aggers being surprised by a second pass of the Spitfire - great sound.

I loved to see the wicket keeper standing up to a seamer, like Godfrey Evans standing up to Alec Bedser.

Stephan Shemilt
BBC Sport at Ageas Bowl
"It feels like we've wasted a lot of time by not taking lunch in these rain breaks. The players are coming out to play for 50 minutes, then will head off for a 40-minute interval".
I couldn't agree more. The rules and regulations for test matches still need to be far more flexible. No point in starting at 10:30am tomorrow when the extra 30 minutes is negated by the above.

Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
"All Buttler needs now is to iron out a few technical issues with his keeping, and he will be working hard on that. It's never been about his batting. The batting side is in the locker now".

Buttler doing a great job of proving myself and the rest of the cricket shrewdies correct. His batting wasn't in doubt, it's his 'keeping that is questionable. Anyway, I hope you're right as he's an exciting cricketer to watch.

I turned it on for the first time this test and Crawley goes first ball. Don't worry, i've turned it off again now.
