For those Pear supporters on this board, it's good to see them going well so far in the Bob Willis Trophy.
Currently piling up the runs against my county 🙄

That is an interesting piece of research, some not unexpected like the difference in background between football and rugby union. A favourite sport of mine is cycling which used to be almost exclusively working class but has become middle class in recent years.

Due to family reasons, Ben Stokes will miss the remainder of the series vs Pakistan.
Sussex bowler Ollie Robinson has been added to the squad for the second test.
Zak Crawley will replace Ben Stokes at 4.

"The Nottinghamshire quick did not contest the charge, levelled by on-field umpires Richard Kettleborough and Richard Illingworth, third umpire Michael Gough and fourth official Steve O’Shaughnessy."
"Match referee Chris Broad, father of England's second-highest Test wicket-taker, handed down the punishment after it was ratified by the ICC cricket operations department."

Abid Ali dropped by Sibley at 2nd slip off Broad.
That's where Stokes would usually be.

What I've not heard mentioned is what the pace of the pitch is like, anyone know please?

Dark clouds and umpires outside chatting TMS have given up for this evening with little prospect of any more action!

Ironic that it’s been hot and dry in Manchester.

Lovely comments from Shagger, who proved the utter folly of dropping him in previous tests. Pick of the bowlers yesterday for the shrewdies who look beyond purely the bowling figures. While we won the last test, it wouldn’t have required such heroics to do so if Shagger had been in the team anyway. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/53773197

Pick of the bowlers yesterday, in my opinion, Jimmy Anderson.
Sam Curran has a lot more to prove before he can guarantee a regular place in the England eleven.
Woakes and Curran are inevitably the first to make way when England make changes.

No prompt start this morning...very frustrating. Hopefully play can go on until 7PM to make up for it.
