Only a few weeks ago our inspirational prime minister was gloating in Parliament about this ‘world-beating game-changing’ app we would soon be rolling out, Kier Starmer’s reply was to forget world beating and to just get one that works. He knew...
Mistakes are acceptable, and to suggest anyone has been wanting the government to fail and coronavirus to wreck its way through the country is disgraceful. But the governments refusal to accept any responsibility for their mistakes, whilst spinning it as any sort of success is quite frankly contemptible.
Of course, those like Downie, Pilch et al are more than welcome to make positive posts about how well the government have done, and how all the mistakes are the fault of scientists, the general public, black protestors or northwestman, in fact I welcome them to, we all need a good chuckle.
Northwestman - I consistently disagreed with you on football matters prior to this and I look forward to those days again, but for now keep up the good work and ignore the trolls.

Downie moaning about dull posts is like Ian Dunbavin moaning about goalkeeping errors. Years of defending the indefensible..... To think his hero’s catch phrase "To those waiting with bated breath for that favourite media catchphrase, the U-turn, I have only one thing to say. You turn if you want to. The lady's not for turning." Bit different with Boris now almost everything he says or does you know the U turn is coming 😩 Just a question of which U turn comes next. The 2 metre rule or the quarantining at airports. But hey, they've at last persuaded the scientists and medical experts to drop us to Level 3 today!

Didn’t Sunak say at the weekend that this would be a political decision? (I’m referring mainly to the 2 metre rule). I feel that we are involuntarily taking part in a risky experiment and am personally relieved that I can and will continue to isolate for as long as it takes. I do feel for those people who have no choice.

we had news the other day of a cheap drug, readily available all over the world will save 1000s of lives hardly groundbreaking apparently You are confusing criticism of the British government with criticism of the UK. It wasn't Boris Johnson that developed the life saving new use for the drug. It's the government that is failing us. Other areas of the UK seem to be handling things better in the things they can control. The people of the UK will beat this virus despite Boris' government, not because of them. Exactly, this wasn't a government policy as such, scientists were the ones who developed it.

It's a matter of time before the 2m rule is relaxed to 1m, despite what the stats show. They've decided hospitality will reopen on the 4th july

And failed to properly answer most questions its part of the plan to ok the 1m rule without the experts having a say also my opinion that next few days due to the 'economy logistical problems with certain shops'. 1 meter distancing will suddenly become fine

“Expect more rubbish “. How true , can’t wait for this afternoons performance . I bet the Gov. spokesperson , whoever it is , will be puffing their chest out to declare we have reached level 3 on the scale of how near death we all are if we don’t do what we’re told. Of course this scale doesn’t apply to Cummings or Jenrick , oh no . I do hope it’s Trigger Hancock today , he’s comedy gold . Although zoos and safari parks have been in lockdown , strangely enough Circuses have been allowed to continue . I think I’m right cos I keep on seeing a great big blonde scruffy haired clown called Boris , on me telly . I think he must have escaped from a Stephen King novel !

Well they are the ones who made the announcement that the app was essential, that a world class track and trace system would be up and running by June 1st and had previously been warned that the centralised system they went with was different to other countries.

That's effectively taken care of at least 20,000 care home residents. Think how much will be saved on State Pensions!

Has anyone noticed that the COVID-19 Tracker app has been added to their phone without their knowledge ? If you have an android phone go to settings, then google settings. On an iPhone I think it's settings, privacy and health. And there it is, even though i haven't given permission or had any intentions of downloading it !!

I could name no end of people with phones who would have no idea how to download the app, sounds like what they have done is very helpful, without looking there are probably similarly named apps just waiting for someone to fall for, not long ago I decided to download zoom, took me a lot longer than I thought

because its totally anti government, contains false statements. ( we all complied with lockdown for example, thousands didnt ), Can you tell me where you got the figure that thousands did not comply with lockdown, or did you just make up a number? Seemed to me at the time that virtually everyone did comply, those that didn't seemed to get stopped and turned back, some even ended up on the front pages of the newspapers. It appeared to be only after Cummings unpunished law breaking that lockdown fell apart.

It was really. The Cummings fiasco and the lack of bottle to deal with it caused many to think that it was ok to do just what they liked and enabled the Boris brigade to ease things far quicker than they might have just to curry favour with much of the population.
They might like to think we will forget but I know I won’t ever.
