a closer look as instructed yesterday & thought he was very good. The point blank save from Costa was exceptional. you mean the one costa missed a sitter on ? the one most keepers would of ambled out for and collected the one similar to the injury time goal not 1 cross he came for and there were loads when defending a corner he needs a piece of paper handed to him with a message scribbled on it that reads "come for the cross" he only saves efforts hit straight at him Ha ha very good Assume too much ambling out for crosses curtailed your international career Pilch lad. The speed/quality of the cross in is a huge factor on the keepers chances to come & collect. On both the save & equaliser the crosses were top notch.

I've not announced my international retirement yet Ruddy was very rusty could have done better on both goals but he did take some great crosses and bowl them out quick to turn defence into attack, but come on a floated cross into the 6 yardbox, even a cr@p keeper can come and punch them

Mr goalkeeper coach . what a stupid comment why don't you get down the club and tell Roland you'll sort out some transfers for him ? we are on a forum trying where we can express our opinions, its doesn't mean they might be right had some great ones on here about keepers I once got hammered on here for suggesting back in December 2002 that Bavo was our weak link he was still the favourite of many and I nearly got lynched for suggesting Glyn Garner had gone bad I also thought Hart wouldn't make it as I used to go to reserve games and he was always awful but then one pre season he suddenly grew a foot and got good

You sound like you know a thing or two about goalkeeping and coming for crosses . Go and give stevo a few tips , if your lucky he might show you his MOM award from the Charlton game 😉

To be fair, how does that compare against other League 1 keepers though?

Based on recent dealings we will probably loan Reice out to Wrexham

Do you think another goalkeeper playing behind that shambles of a defence today, or at Bradford, would have fared much better? I'm not sure they would. A good goalkeeper exposed by a poor defence will still let goals in, but a lesser goalkeeper protected by a good defence may not. There is so much more to it than the performance of the goalkeeper alone.

There is so much more to it than the performance of the goalkeeper alone. considering when they went 1-0 up I thought we were the better side and could have been 2-0 up on a good day after the goal we collapsed and the first goal was so soft how often does a team get to chip the ball from one side of the 6 yard to the other whilst the keeper stands on his line watching ? 2nd goal, just proves, anything , absolutely anything on target goes in basically he only saves shots hit straight at him he almost messed up the simplest of back passes today too after today, rickets has to change the keeper next saturday we might as well have a dustbin in goal than Arnold

Well if he changes the goalkeeper we'll see. Unless the defensively play is significantly tighter I don't think it will make too much difference. If the goalkeeper is continually exposed as, for example, Arnold has been in the last two games then we'll continue to concede plenty of goals. Even the best goalkeepers when exposed to forwards with time and space to finish will concede more often than not.
Something clearly has to change as we're heading for League 2 at an alarming rate. I wouldn't criticise Ricketts for trying Mitchell next Saturday, but without much better performances from those in front of him I don't think the end result will be much different.

I don't think Arnold is the biggest problem at the moment,
I've seen a lot lot worse in a town jersey.
