2-1 town on this one !!! We do have the dodgy moment at that back but we score goals and dangerous on attack.

Strikes me as another game where Town will have to be at their disruptive best. These lost one nil at home to Wimbledon in a game where, by all accounts, the Dons shut up shop, kept it tight and frustrated Rovers.
Much like the Wigan game, it seems our best approach will be to deny them as much time on the ball as possible and counter attack with pace. Fortunately, we've had a full week to recover from the win at Oldham and (touch wood) have no injury scares so should be able to play our high tempo game to full effect.
On a side note, are Blackburn really that much of a bigger club than us? Their last home game against Wimbledon drew a crowd of 10700 and they have Bradley Dack up front.
Admittedly that's still a decent crowd and Dack is a good league one player but they're not an order of magnitude ahead of us. A win is definitely achievable here. Clearly I'm wary of over confidence but if we are to achieve anything this season we need to get rid of this "nosebleed time" attitude and start believing in ourselves. The players seem to be doing this already; with 7 wins out of an unbeaten 8 they've earned the right to.
Let's see the fans do the same. We need to make tomorrow as difficult as possible for Blackburn. An attitude of "just enjoy the ride till normal service is resumed" won't do that. Let's create a cauldron atmosphere tomorrow; get on Blackburn's backs and get behind our own players.

Don't remember ever getting a crowd anywhere near that for the likes of Wimbledon et al......

Yeah I've acknowledged that they're a bigger club, just not THAT much bigger. The way some people go on about the likes of them, Wigan etc you'd think we were up against Barcelona.

as Blacburn have not conceded any goals out of there last three away games i would think from a goal scoring point of view this will be tight if you look back to the last season under melon were players seemed to struggle withe formation, we now have a team who know what is expected of them work hard for each other and are organized.Hurst has got rid of the dead wood some players are transformed,to my mind our weakness it still defense both our right backs get turned too easily and we still struggle to pick up diagonal runs.you only have to think back to Odlham goal and Doyle run were he hit the post however Henderson command of his box and ability to deal with corners has had a huge impact this combined with Godfrey playing as defensive midfielder. this game should be interesting a win will be another sign of our improvment, however whatever the result town have made an incredible start.

Think some of you are getting a bit excited. They are A LOT bigger than us. Attendances are not a measure of how big a club are it just shows where they are at at this moment in time. If we had suffered 2 relegations and were at a lower level than most fans had ever experienced and had owners who had no idea about football and had little interest in the club we wouldn't be getting anywhere near the crowds we are.
We are at the highest point than lots of us can remember, they are at their lowest point and they still attract better players, higher attendances and have done what only 6 clubs in the country have done in winning the premier league.
Their long term goal will be getting back in the premier league. Ours is to getting into the championship...

Blackburn were in the 3rd tier for 5 years in the 1970s and played us in the 2nd tier for 10 years in the 1980s.

That's about a 25% increase.

I think there are lots of us on this message board who were around in the 70's and 80's when we were at our highest pinnacle. During the 1980 season we had gates over 8000 for the majority of home fixtures and a handful were well over 10,000 ie Birmingham 14000, Sunderland 12,000, and Wrexham, Newcastle, Burnley around the 10/11k mark.

The season we got promoted to the 2nd tier, Blackburn were relegated to the 3rd. They bounced straight back up and we played them regularly in the 10 years at the second level.

I'm going under the knife on Saturday, so I hope that I come round to Town having a resounding win and still sitting proudly at the top of the league. Good luck for a speedy recovery.

Yes. And now we have all seater stadiums and people from Shropshire support Manchester City and Chelsea because they can see them on TV every week...

Thanks to a sister in Switzerland and a decent vpn I'm enjoying this one on ifollow from my sofa in Suffolk. Given how quiet b and a is I'm asumming everyone else is at the game!
A decent first half and a pretty even game. We've certainly not looked out of our depth although been a little ragged in midfield these last ten mins.
A few half chances for both teams but little for either keeper to do. Bolton (I think) hit the bar with a looping header and Whalley shot over just before half time otherwise we've not really looked like scoring but been solid enough at the back too.
A respectable performance if not as fluid as previous games and I'd quite happily take a point.

Salop slightly the better side. Their forward should have hit the target from a free header but other than that I can't think of them breaking though the defense.
Keep going Salop!
