I see Jamie Oliver has threatened to quit Britain WHEN we leave the EU. I want another referendum now. That news should put another 5 million on the Leave side, not having to listen to that prick telling us how to toss a salad. I know it's annoying when celebs say this when something isn't going the way they want - it's usually those on the right who can't stand the prospect of a Labour government. But Jamie's campaign on school meals was worthwhile and produced results and his campaign against sugar in processed food and drink is also to be applauded. People in this country are dying from the effects of obesity and even Brexit's £350 million a week gift to the NHS will not be enough to cure the epidemic.

Dunna worry yerself mon. He won't be going anywhere. The one's who squeal loudest never do. Can you imagine him in the U.S. telling them to eat more healthily? The next time you saw him in this country, he'd be about 20 stone.

Hmmm,so you must have trawled through my posts to find said corrections? Very very creepy. you sound a strange kind of person with an obviuosly exciting lifestyle (not) to have time to go through people's posts... I don't, and certainly wouldn't waste a second on yours, but I do have a memory. Obviously. i think we both know that is a porky pie.

He's tried in the US... and unfortunately didn't manage to convince them of much!
Agreed with the Tenor's view - nice to see someone like Oliver use his position of fame/celebrity to positively impact on people's health. I'm of the opinion if collectively our population made an effort to eat healthier, drink less alcohol and exercise more, we could probably cure the NHS' funding crisis....

Wos he found guilty?
My son and his wife have just been on holly day to the States. They're both healthy eaters and rarely drink. Apparently, if you order a lettuce leaf over there, it comes complete with a half pounder and a bucket of fries. (And that was a child portion).

The funny thing is some of the locals argument is "our eating may be bad, but at least we're not alcoholics like you Brits"

The funny thing is some of the locals argument is "our eating may be bad, but at least we're not alcoholics like you Brits" That's hardly surprising considering the beer they have over there. I wouldn't drink much either... Poor old Jamie. I saw the clip when he asked those American kids who wanted chicken nuggets and they all cheered and shouted me, me, me. He then great pains to explain to them how they are made and what they contain and to be fair it was pretty grim. At the end of all that he again asked the kids who wanted chicken nuggets. They all cheered and shouted me, me, me.

I've just been listening to the BBC Food Programme on the future of food supplies after Brexit, interesting stuff.
But what really amused me was the contribution from the advisor on food security to UKIP and speechwriter for Nigel Farage, his contribution was sent in by Skype - 'from his home in Portugal'!

Over 19,000 viewings of this thread now - what's the highest ever on B&A? Can't have been many higher, especially political ones.

Not sure of the highest ever, but I see Flippin Fish has >27,000. Mind you that was of more importance to many people of course.
