Such is the romance of test cricket, one never knows what could happen on the first morning of a test match.
Stunning performance by Broad, supported by some excellent slip catching.

Lyth fails again. Superb ball by Starc, unlucky that. If we win this he'll get another game so hopefully he can make some runs as I don't think there's many viable options currently.

Decent delivery that from Starc. He has certainly got the measure of Lyth at the moment. Test cricket is certainly proving to be a tough challenge for the Yorkshireman at the moment.

I would have snapped your hand off for 274-4 at the close, taking out the fact we bowled first. What a day. I don't think I'll see us complete the win but I should see some fun batting as we rack up a 400 lead tomorrow and then tear into their middle order again. I wonder if we'll be allowed to take the extra half hour if the Aussies are 3 down..!

Warner bowling for Australia, now that's something you don't see very often!

Hopefully, we can get a lead of at least 400 (preferably 500) by the end of today.
Gives us 3 days to bowl them out. Plus a short session between tea and close of play today.

A lead of 500?!that's getting greedy! Anything north of 350 would be good, I'd rather see fewer England runs and still plenty of movement for our bowlers, the Aussies just can't handle it if its not a flat track.

Shocking drop of Warner by Cook at slip off Broad.
Warner then takes 14 off Finn's next over.

Warner dropped again by Bell off Stokes.
Australia now approaching 100. Both Finn and Moeen carted round the ground.
Anyone else starting to get a bad feeling about this?

Aussies now 205 for 5. I can see them declaring, and setting England a tricky total of about 600.
