Joe Root's test batting average now 51. Gary ballance is at 61, Buttler at 66 (although 3 innings doesn't give a remotely accurate average). Thoroughly decent batting line up on paper with Cook and Bell mid 40s too, although the test will always be hostile away conditions. Still a few years until the next ashes down under, which is the biggest test really. Saffers' attack might also dent the averages, no idea when we next play them.
One thing's for sure, India have been diabolical the last 3 tests and it's been a sorry end of the series, really. ODIs will be closer, and the T20s I don't really care about.

Those Indian players really need to take a long, hard look at themselves. Most of them are earning millions yet they have looked totally unprofessional in the last few tests. It is ridiculous for a test to be finished on the afternoon of the third day despite some delays for rain. England were really poor last winter down under, but never, ever as bad as India, who appeared to have thrown in the towel long before the end. No shame for a young, inexperienced team to lose in alien conditions, but for most of them to appear to give up as soon as the going got a little tough is poor. Utterly spineless.

It's almost enough to make a cricket lover suspicious...
