Broad batted well. We shouldn't really lose this game unless we produce another collapse as this pitch is so poor, however I wouldn't put it past us right now. Boy oh boy does Cook need a score...

On this showing of the majority of the so called batsmen's technique is severely lacking. Their coaches need to be sacked and ones brought in who have the nouce to be able to teach them the basics properly and not just how to play T20 bash bash. I also have worries on the bowling once Anderson calls it a day, as the ones on show have plenty of agression but pression little accuracy or control and as for the spinners.........

Incredible stuff. Highest tenth wicket stand in test history. Through to the late lunch with a 28-run lead and Jimmy on 81. Unbelieveable.

Test cricket, never ceases to amaze me!
Just a shame Jimmy fell short of a test hundred but fantastic effort nonetheless.

Have we found a new star bowler in Cook, the mind boggles. Mind you there will be some fireworks at Lords because I expect that Ishant will be mighty p**sed off having been caught out by our star bowler.

At last a wicket that may favour the bowlers!
Good start by England but that's another catch that Prior has put down.

Too short and too wide. Not making the most of the conditions.

Too short and too wide. Not making the most of the conditions. Indeed, would have expected Anderson and Broad will all their experience to have exploited the conditions much better than they did this morning.

Indeed, would have expected Anderson and Broad will all their experience to have exploited the conditions much better than they did this morning. Yeah, they keep bowling too short this summer. Surely the bowling coach has told them time and again to pitch the bloody thing up. Very disappointing that bowlers of their standing and experience keep making the same mistake. It's doing Swanny's nut on tms.

That was bizarre after tea yesterday. Ah well, polished them off quickly this morning, thank god. Now come on Cook, time to get some runs (preferably more than a handful).

Cook's goose is cooked I'm afraid. He's a handicap on the team both as a captain and an opener. Time for a new captain and Cook to go back to county cricket for a while and try to get a bit of form back.

Scored a couple of centuries for Essex, all looking well, but here we are 6 test innings later and still no score.

Test cricket is certainly not the place to try and rediscover your form with the bat, Cook is really struggling and before you know it the pressure is again on England's middle order. For a player on his home turf, Sam Robson's dismissal was even more disappointing. I think it's also time for Bell to deliver a big 100, his form has not been that good of late.

Good ton from Gary Ballance, just s pity he was then out to a soft dismissal as he was playing really well.

Damn it Prior you fool. Did you learn nothing in the Ashes about pulling and hooking with traps set? Idiot. Wicketkeeping hasn't been up to scratch, if you're going to bat like a dick... goodbye.

It's time for change. I don't think cook will go until the end of the series but surely it's time tor Buttler to come in now. And Jordan back in for stokes at the very least. Bell needs to buck up his ideas too...

Bell needs to buck up his ideas too... Agreed, but Jimmy may be suspended and Broad is looking like he needs resting too. Doubt they'd want to change half the team at once.
