Another funny moment from yesterday was when some Town fans nicked the Telford scarf from the inside of the York hotel and burnt it outside to a cheering crowd.
Does anyone have any pictures cos i recall there was plenty of cameras witnessing it.

That'll be the scarf which was donated by us Telford fans when asked for a piece of memorabilia from our club last season I think it was. Nice one If you want to be a parralel to third world countries in your actions - and find such things funny, then god help you.

Where to start?
Your designation of Arab countries as 'third world' or the ignorance of sterotyping said countries as 'flag burning' states?
You decide.........

Well... they are third world or " developing" countries, are they not? Fairly simple way of life, developing technologies and societal values in order to keep up with the western world. And I didn't say they were flag burning states - I said it happens there. Which it does. So you condone such actions?

I was there as were quite a few off here (won't mention any names Yes it was stupid but a mixture of lager and the sun makes people do stupid things, its not the end of the world and Im sure you've got more things to worry about than a scarf being burnt But I seem to remember a group of Telford fans taking great delight in setting fire to something in the SSC (I think it was a stewards badge they had somehow got)

Rather than moving onto the risky subject of what may or may not be going on in the third world, I think we should stick to what we actually KNOW happened in Morecambe!
Why would anyone try and jeapordise what looked like a superb day out with such a petty, moronic act?

"Fans" no. Idiots; yes. But you're a normal fan? Or an idiot in burberry and the like? Alcohol makes you do stupid things, but that doesn't make it right.

If they had bought the scarf themselves, then fair enough thwey can do what they like, but stealing and burning someone elses property is pretty damn harsh.

Just surprised that on a thread on which you're taking the moral high ground, you make some ignorant remarks/comparisons to Arab states in terms of flag burning.
I've said my piece.

I said before that i thought it was pretty harsh.
However some people are going OTT - the people did it as has been said they'd had a couple to drink and they thought they were making people laugh. I'm sure they regret doing it but is it necessary to go through this whole post mortem?

I bet you absolutely anything that if the shoe was on the other foot and Telford fans had burned a Shrews scarf, there would be absolute uproar on here, and anyone who says otherwise, I'm sorry, is deluded.
What if some police had taken action? Shrews fans arrested for stealing and destroying property. What a world of good that would have done our fans reputation! It just takes a few people to get in trouble, and before you know it the whole lot of us will be tarred with the same brush.
Its just a matter of principle!

As I've said it was a stupid thing and of course alcohol is no excuse but peoples judgement goes out of the window. I'll be honest and say when it was set alight I had a little laugh (as did a lot of people, and these weren't the burberry clad type) but when the hangover kicked in this morning I could see it was a stupid thing to do. Surprised its generated this much debate and people are going OTT with talk of ruining our reputation Just to pick up on one thing Bowya when you said idiots yes, fans no. Believe it or not but there are people who are both. Anyway relax, the suns
