Come on lads and lasses, lets put this to bed eh? Yeah it were a good laugh but I guess it was also a sh!tty thing to do (there are people in both camps that will see different sides of the coin)...I can see both to be honest... BVS is right, mind...some of you lot would have gone off on one big time if the situation had of been reversed (I can see it now...'and all that we have done for them' malarkey : . Stuff like this is going to happen isn't it...but if we do the decent thing and replace what was taken then no (well a little less) harms done eh? Ant, you can use the 15 notes I won on the national to buy a new Telford scarf for the pub our kid...but I want the change mind if there is owt left!! ;D

I'm sure with a bit of petrol you'll burn well too.
Didn't know about the Carlisle scarf and if true that will really upset one of the regulars. There are two Carlisle scarves one from the first division season and one from the Jimmy Glass season both donated by a Morecambe and York Hotel regular 'Carlisle' Paul - he who bangs the drum.
How nice one incident in five years and then some of your lot manage to destroy two scarves, one pennant and failed to get away with another. Beats me why they just didn't be done and burn the whole bloody pub down.
As for the understaffing, the pub manages with only two staff most nights and has to pull in loads of people on the day. On Saturday there were five staff packed in to maximum behind the bar. The pint glasses went within an hour and the plastic ones in half and hour and you drank the decent bitter dry (none for me last night).
Thanks to those who did enjoy themselves and just had a good time and a laugh without managing to destroy what others have spent time and money collecting and enjoying. As I said earlier, for the most part, Shrewsbury fans were an absolute credit to their club and a pleasure to have in the town.
Best wishes for the playoffs.
P.S. Thanks Ant for the email and kind offer.

Incredible reaction to the inclusion of one little word: funny! To be honest this is what i dislike about this board, you say something in jest then its followed up by the B and A liberal lefty politically correct police taking the moral high ground who then start replying by name calling such as "mornic", "idioit" and "your not fans" and followed up by Whether i find something funny is my buisness and my buisness only, you may not agree but there you go we are all different. As to incident that happened yesterday it was alcohol influenced Im sure but some people are likening it to crime of the century. Yes it was theft but then again the pub owner didnt buy the scarf so they are hardly likely to be out of pocket. Just think some people out there need to chill out. We are all different, people do stupid thinks, but it adds to variety of life. I refuse to be a politcally correct zombie!!!!!! Some of the reactions to the original thread have been appalling. Stuff the "better than thow" brigade.

I'll chip in for a new scarf, and I like Robs idea of giving them a Salop one as well

I've got the address and Landlord's name from the York and told them we'd donate a stfc and tufc scarf - if the tufc scarfs are sold out I'm sure we can get a pendant or something instead.
I think some of the views on this thread have been OTT but I also think that the scarf should be replaced.

it would be nice if those concerned at least apologised
i did witness most of it and they were very p****d
i agree with wynnie though and this skeleton should have stayed in the cupboard, luckily for those concerned the camera stayed in the pocket
but as its out in the open then the carlise scarf, and 2 telford items should be replaced and the 4 or 5 concerned should foot the full replacement bill

Not a whole lot with it being half off all day. I bagged a pair of shorts for the fans match, a pair of socks for said match, pin badge and a completely oversized red and white wig for a tenner. There was hardly anything left after the match!

on a lighter note there will be hundreds of telford scarfs not being used after they go bust i can organise a lorry to take them all up if you can collect them sim

If we folded I'd never let go of any of my TUFC stuff, progammes, shirts, programmes, anything! I just couldn't!

£15 quid would buy a Telford player wouldn't it?

£15 quid would buy a Telford player wouldn't it? Now now, that's cruel! A player is for life - not just one season!
