Funny my ass, it was stupid, should not have happened, and helps give football fans a bad name, but worse things happen every day.

Sounds like these are a good example to any children waching i'm sure the people where your new ground is going to bulit would love this happening by them.? Nice to here some found it slightly amusing? though for a good laugh you should of burnt the pub down At the time i found it slightly amusing - as is the same when you see somebody fall over in a comical way walking down the street, you think it's funny at first - but what if that persons hurt themselves badly? It's human nature to find some things amusing at first when maybe they're not but it's very impressive to admit you were wrong when you think about it later.

Its all about taking the P!$$ , so on our downward slump from division 3 to the conference , telford fans made an effort to make a flag/banner and parade it at several games before our eventfull downfall...swings and round abouts

Maybe it was a little OTT, but then again so is all this over-reaction.

Agreed, i think the major complaint is that it was stolen and then set alight.

Incredible reaction to the inclusion of one little word: funny! To be honest this is what i dislike about this board, you say something in jest then its followed up by the B and A liberal lefty politically correct police taking the moral high ground who then start replying by name calling such as "mornic", "idioit" and "your not fans" and followed up by Whether i find something funny is my buisness and my buisness only, you may not agree but there you go we are all different. As to incident that happened yesterday it was alcohol influenced Im sure but some people are likening it to crime of the century. Yes it was theft but then again the pub owner didnt buy the scarf so they are hardly likely to be out of pocket. Just think some people out there need to chill out. We are all different, people do stupid thinks, but it adds to variety of life. I refuse to be a politcally correct zombie!!!!!!

Ok, so if Barnet fans come into the Crown next week, grab my scarf and set it alight, I'll pat 'em on the back and suggest they go for the Perrier best newcomer this year. And since it was a present, I won't be out of pocket! Everyone's a winner!

I just cant believe anyone can try and justify theft, thats all!
If you had something stolen and burnt, would it be funny then?

For fu(ks sake Pete lad, I'd bet my whole set of town memrobilia that if you had been there you'd have had a rise smile on your face when the incident happend. Yes it was wrong, everyone knows stealing is wrong but stop treating this as if someone's just been murdered. Please everyone just lighten up. Awaits huge backlash ;D

To be fair, the landlord didn't seem too concerned about it at the time given it probably was his best day of the year for sales.
I was in the pub at the time and I laughed when the scarf was taking down, I didn't see a problem with it. I think the burning was a bit harsh but those who did it probably realise it and will no doubt not do something like it again - everyone does things they later regret.

Fair play, some people have really gone well overboard on this thread! It was wrong, but bad things happen every day. Forget about it.

Who compared it to a murder!? Who even came close to comparing it to a murder?! And you can drop that Town memorabillia off to me when I next see you, its simply not the kinda thing that could make me laugh ;D

Well I guess we'll never find out Pete, but from my experience it's much harder to say you wouldn't laugh at something like that from the premises of an internet messageboard than it is actually being there.

It's not a case of weather you say you would laugh at it. I'd probably say i wouldn't laugh at something like that, but it didn't stop me.
It just seems a huge over reaction to me, not needed. People need to lighten up a little and enjoy the sunshine ;D

Aye like you said, I'll never know. I'm willing to drop the argument because I'm as bored of it as you are, but I'm still annoyed that nobody answered the 'would it be funny if it happened to you?' question ;D
