F.A. Cup 4th round qualifying. Chesterfield v Wrexham. Wrexham's cup final Gosh, there's a lot of ex FL clubs in the qualifying draw! Yea, I make it 12 in the northern section. 5 in the south. Disaster for Wrexham if they get knocked out before the real competition actually starts. Although, they can then concentrate on the much more important Trussocks Wafer Thin Mint Biscuit Trophy match against A Helen Mirren Under 14 side.

This Maidstone United have never played in the football league. That club went wallop Mrs Cockins in 1992.

When you see all these ex league clubs who haven't made it back it does make you realise how lucky we were to get back at the first time through a penalty shoot out. If that hadn't happened would we still be one of those clubs.

also applies to some in the northern section too ... certainly FC Halifax Town were only formed in 2008 after original club went "wallop Mrs Cockins" and Hereford were formed in 2014 after Hereford United did the same thing

Possibly NOT Wrexham. They are far bigger than ever Town will be, we have been told on here often enough. They have regularly played in Europe (going back 30 odd years ago granted) dont forget.

Massive result against a club the size of Harrogate tonight, well done to everyone involved in a historic point.

WELL WELL WELL!
THE FARMHANDS GLOATING OVER THE MORE SUCCESSFUL CLUB ACROSS THE BORDER'S SAD DEMISE... POOR NIGHT ON TV? MUST REMEMBER TO PUT THE RECYCLING BIN OUT ETC?
Let's face it. Shrewsbury aren't play-off material this season. Look where you were two seasons ago? You must be disappointed... Very disappointed. But! You'll just have to for mid-table medicocrity this season. Better than your nervous escape from relegation last season.....
When a new Gaffer arrives at the club, for a second time (under a cloud), tonight you'd expect a response from the players? Get off their lazy flipin' arses, like every other player when a new manager arrives. Look like a different side etc.....
Nope! Not with this bunch..
YOU'VE GOT NOTHING. NOTHING TO BE COCKY ABOUT!

A win tonight for AFC Filed would have put the plastic scousers bach in the relegation places. Instead they lost to Chesterfield who are now just Juan point behind the fallen "giants".
Bryan Hughes was a hero of mine, I can see Dean Keates becoming a favourite as well.
Attendance : A sellout in the home end, with 4 from Harrogate, including 2 whippets.

It's party time for Wrexham in the Trussocks Wafer Thin Mint Biscuit Challenge Trophy, where The Dragons lead a Helen Mirren Boy Scouts XI by 3 - 1, to move seamlessly into the Quarter Final.
Is the final of the competition held at Wembley?

Is the final of the competition held at Wembley? The final venue hasn't been decided as yet but apparently it will be a neuutral venue as last years final was held at Raith Rovers ground in Kirkcaldy. Raith played, and beat, Wrexham's big North Wales rivals Connahs Quay Nomads As benefits such a HUGE tournament its great to see that each round is drawn "live" at Turrocks factory in Uddingston ! ( wherever that is ?)

I am getting more and more confused following Wrexhams progress in this important UWAFER competition. I am sure it is called the Turrocks CARAMEL wafer trophy and Wrexham would only qualify for the Turrocks MINT wafer trophy if they actually win the CARAMEL one first. It must be very difficult for new manager Dean Keates to get his head round being involved in such a high level of European competition.

'The final match of the tournament is played at a neutral venue, usually one that is geographically close or equidistant to where the clubs contesting the match are based'. Yeah, sure. The final was held in Inverness last year, when Ross County and Connah's Quay Nomads were involved. Ross County - Inverness 10 miles. Connah's Quay - Inverness 400 miles. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Challenge_Cup

Don't think the Kit Kat stadium exists anymore so difficult to find a relevant venue for the final.

Oh dear, even the BBC were reporting earlier on that tonight's match has been postponed! It's not the first time BBC Radio Bloooobirds Wales has cocked up coverage of Wrexham AFC... 0-1 down. We come to expect it these days.... It's already one disaster of a season. Of Titanic proportions. At least we're chasing silverware in the Scottish League Cup! (The crowd cheers)

To think Chesterfield couldnt buy a win any way they tried. Will be glad to have run into a team who are more crap than they are.

Just reading the report - at least Wrexham can claim to have scored and Chesterfield didnt. An OG but it was a Wrexham player that put it in - in his own net. Dear oh dear....

It must be very difficult for new manager Dean Keates to get his head round being involved in such a high level of European competition. It’ll get even more confusing should they win the caramel wafer trophy. They’ll then face off against the winners of the mint wafer trophy next August for a one off showpiece game in what’s known as the ‘Wafer Winner’s Cup Final’.
