Salopcast is back (and Glyn), and pretty furious.
A third loss in a row, a manager with no answers. A cut interview, a new chairman, suck in the relegation zone and with very little hope at the moment. Some very stark stats that will bring tears to eyes.
What next!

Another good podcast and you capture well the strange mixture of anager, resignation, apathy and chaos which is hanging over our club. Also, well done on mentioning Cotterill's latest post-match interview and the truncated version which appeared on he website. Something clearly happened again.

Yep, another good podcast. Enjoyed it. As much as you can with how things are going anyhow. Although I did feel some of the words directed towards the manager were uncalled for. But certainly good to hear some details about the man who looks set to be the next Chairman, Paul Delves.

I did reflect on calling him a coming across like " dick", but in context that's fair. I was specifically about how he comes across in interviews, and the ones where hes acted like a dick... so in respective. No regrets. Fair point though Stutty.
Going to be dipping back into the Devles story many time no doubt. Its been the worst kept secret in town for a couple of monuments and one town STILL dont want to actually admit is happening! I stand by my initial reading of the man that hes a thoroughly nice bloke.
Be great if a little of the Paul Delves attitude rubbed off on our current manager!

Yeah, it would be good to hear more about the ownership as things move closer the inevitable. Whether more people will involved, for example. Whether it will be just a continuation of what we are seeing now with Delves looking to pretty much carry on the same way as we are now. Or whether he may have his own ideas. So what we might expect. Which was touched on in this weeks podcast. That sort of thing.

He hasn’t come across to the normal fan as anything other than Rolands lap dog. What’s he said or done since becoming Vice Chairman? Maybe I missed it.

Hes actually bothered to come and meet the fans at every SP meeting we have had. We haven't seen RW at one since he last came to tell us off Hes a quite man to be fair to him from my reading and as yet he does not actually own the club. What hes done since becoming VC, I suspect just understanding what the role of chairman would be. Its only been since April. In terms of the club, hes invested a lot of money sponsoring the ground and the shirts the last few years. Planet Donut are putting a lot in too. In terms of people putting money into the club, over the last few years hes dwarfed what RW has put in (not sure any of his companies are current sponsors)

Don’t listen to all of these but everyone should listen to this.
I do disagree with our position not being the Chairman or CEO fault.
They allowed Cotterill a free hand with his lack of competitive friendlies and preparation for the season They could see how recruitment was going (the fans could) yet just left the situation to fizzle out. Were they asking for daily updates on progress, targets, secondary targets etc? Did they offer help, in the a,st week it was obvious Cotterill had got it badly wrong.
Shocking stats since Hurst left show who’s fault it is
155 games 141 goals and a 23% win ratio (currently 17 over 24 games)
Im depressed

Not to mention allegedly a free hand in changing the kit suppliers and the waste of money that entailed.

With Ollie off this week as he gets used to the birth of his first child and the lack of sleep, I'm joined by Ade Plimmer as we look back at a frustrating loss away at Cheltneham. We both agree the game was there for us to win but one moment of madness cost us an easy three points. Ade gives his thoughts on SC, we talk about the concept of double jeopardy and look back at a day of firsts. Also would not be a Salopcast without some horrendous stats! It does not get any easier! soundcloud.com/salopcast/202122-ep17-double-jeopardy

Yeah when I looked up the double jeopardy was surprised he had it wrong on the definition of deliberate or accidental.

Going to Sunak is probably another way of saying going to the treasury. pretty sure the Liberal Chancellor from over 100 years ago isn't receiving the revenue. Although it may end WW1 sooner if it can be arranged.

We both talk about the big old trip up to Carlisle, the weather, a turgid match, some Supporters Parliament business and wrap it up with a look ahead to another hard week. soundcloud.com/salopcast/202122-ep19-fa-cup-specialists

Exactly the same as when they refused to put steps in at the bank leading up to Otley Road for years, not sure how no-one ever got injured. It's so short-sighted as well - it puts casual fans off going if it's a pain in the arse to get to and from the ground, so even if the club have to pay for it with no assistance from the council it'll be pay for itself in time.
