A two game week for Salopcast to cover starting with town cementing 17th place for a few more weeks beating Burton Away (FINALLY) and then followed up with a loss at home to a decent Portsmouth. Everyone keeps saying that 50 points means safety and it certainly seems that the past few performance indicate that, but does anyone know whether a team has ever been relegated from League 1 with 50 points?

Some of us like the kit but I don’t see how anyone can condemn it for not have amber but then moan saying an all white kit would have been great and they would have rushed out and bought it

EP Three this week now Live (late post up!) Much like some of the races in the Olympics it was a false start for town who continued the season much as they left off with few clear cut chances created (one shot on target again), some tired legs (Big Arron) and a loss. Initially an uplifting day as fans reunited and then gave SC a big ovation not even a slightly grand stand finish as town chased it could leave fans buzzing as there were worry's about how prepared we currently are for the start of this season. EP4 for the season now live Into the second week and town still not looking like they are ready for the season to start as a late sub inspired performance rescues a pen win vs Lincoln and then town are fairly abject at Morambe. Everyone gets a go in the number 10 roll with zero success and town drop to bottom of the early league table. Then to compound things town launch a pretty mental kit. We talk about the experience at being back at the first salop game under the lights for a while and a first away trip where a return to an away terrace was the highlight of being in Morcambe. I listened to the podcast this morning and laughed at the comments about the boss must have been fuming about ogbeta and his tackle on saturday
imagine if 12 months ago our manager had not signed enough forwards and played someone like Pierre up front for a few games ( and not just in the 89th minute as a last throw of the dice )
speaking of Pierre, imagine if he turned up at the start of this season even more out of shape than he did last season ( oops he did )
did agree with most of ollies comments but the incoming quality transfers prediction is wishful thinking although im happy to be wrong
lets hope we sneak something tonight glyn or you are going to have to reluctantly blow the dust of your excel sheets ;-)

I already have dusted it off on Twitter You will be pleased to know that if we lose tonight it will be a worse start in the league after 3 than both Rickets and Askey Managed! Fingers crossed for something to cheer tonight On the pod, I think its fair after two games to ask a couple of searching questions as to whats gone on in pre season and recruitment and the slow start... SC does not seem that arsed from his presser today but i hope the master plan starts to pay off soon. We are on a bad run across the end of this season and the start of this. |

Another week without a win as town play better at Portsmouth but continue to forget where the back of the net before we then come home and forget where the back of the net is playing poorly. We are STILL not ready for this season at all! We discuss the games, the recruitment strategy, out new signing and how to say is name with the help of a south african pronunciation, the rumors of a change in the board room and look ahead to the visit of Gillingham and Steve Evans which is about the last thing we need when a loss next game will be the first time we have ever lost 5 in a row to start a season!
