Presumably then he did have an injury but passed his medical on the assumption that hamstrings clear up relatively quickly? Genuine question this not a sarcastic comment. I assume so. On the fee being stated I have far to much respect for RW business sense to allow his joint prize asset to go for such a abysmal fee. One for the SP?

Fee is 250k initial payment then 125k on 20 Appearences, and another 125 on 40 10% sell on clause That sounds very authoratative..and hugely disappointing. And Fred seems to back this up with his comments. Still, with the sale of Ginnelly and now Goldson, RW should very quickly get his money back for bankrolling the JLAA and Grandison contracts.

250k initial + 100k over 12 months, 125k for 25 games and 125k for 50 games plus a 10% sell on fee. We also have first refusal on any players they want to send out on loan.

and what we don't know is if other clubs came in at the last minute offering similar or better deals? Would appear not if that's what we've accepted.
Though it does guarantee further income that can be budgetd for in later in the season and next year.

Just want to add my best wishes and Good Luck to Connor to the original purposes of this thread.
Ok the rest of you can get back to your pointless speculation of what the fee and add ons were

No knowledge. Just one possible interpretation of Matt Williams' statement in the Shropshire Star: “We weren’t aware of Brighton’s interest before the weekend, then Connor declared himself unfit and we would have wanted him available,” said Williams.
“It was the player’s decision to declare himself unfit.”
Clearly, it's possible that Brighton made an official approach after the weekend but it looks as if the club were expecting him to still be a Town player on Tuesday night.

Indeed and I wonder if the literal sudden non appearance in the team affected them because they were certainly lacklustre to put it mildly!

Don't want to get into the ifs and buts surrounding Tuesday evenings events but it seems to me that if a player rang in with a "hamstring injury" then the club would surely want him in for treatment.
Either way the very best of luck Connor, another name to feel proud of when I hear it on the telly!

Good luck Judas Connor Goldson. In my opinion I shall await confirmation from the club before calling him a Judas.

Good luck Judas Connor Goldson. In my opinion a very poor post. Connor showed himself to be a class act for us - both in how he played and how he conducted himself (not least by rejecting the move to Swansea against his agent´s wishes and also in how he responded to being played out of position and farmed out to Cheltenham).

As I've posted elsewhere earlier in the week he was at the ground on Tuesday at 17:40hrs, seen shaking other players hands and drove off on his own.

Good luck Judas Connor Goldson. Czarcasm clearly has a sense of humour that I do not appreciate - normally I fnd it it best to ignore it, but this surely isn´t anything but disrespectful at best for anyone ?

Good luck at brighton connor. Hope it all works out for you. In my opinion, I shall first await official confirmation from Brighton that it is all working out for Connor and that he's having good luck. Dunk leaving would be a good start.

I head it was £10,000 up front, £20.00 every time he ties his bootlaces for the first three months, £10.00 if he does a wet fart, and £50.00 every time he says, "Ooo look, there's a seagull".

The £600k figure mentioned in the Star isn't too far away from Downie's and Vanner's information.
The only difference is that perhaps the Star hasn't mentioned that £350k of the £600k is to be paid in stages depending on appearances.

Was awesome for us sad to see him go.
Defenders don't cost as much as attacking players and if Woods were to go surely he would demand a higher fee even though Goldson is better. Also now in the luxury of having money to afford to keep the players we want.
First things first get Leutweiler and Woods on new contracts with big buy outs.

We might value Goldson higher than the rumoured fee but, if Brighton's was the best offer (and there seem to have been a few), should the club have turned that down and hoped for the best?
If we've had a few offers, would they have influenced the outcome of a tribunal's compensation ruling next summer?
Time to move on. Hopefully gives us scope to try to extend one or two contracts now and maybe another signing if Mellon thinks it's needed.

if the clubs asking price was 800k then the probably new they would have accepted about 600k specially if we get a decent sell on fee.

Good luck to him. Terrific player and one we will miss but we only really had him for last season (I know Jacko played him when he took over the season before too) as a regular, so I'm sure we'll get by without him whilst he spends his best years elsewhere.
