Anyone know how many have been sold? I myself am unable to go due to Family commitments. The game has somewhat been overshadowed by the Arsenal game.

Poor that is.
I wasn't expecting us to take too many what with Arsenal etc, but 300 is pretty poor to say the least!

If thats correct then its terrible
There are a few reasons/excuses which i could understand a poorer than usual following but anything less than 500 is poor to say the least. Well considering everyone was slating the heffers following of 500, then anything less than 1,000 is poor

There is also the Shrewsbury fields festival on in town at the weekend, so a few Town fans - myself included - will be at that rather than enjoying the delights of Port Vale

For the first time ever I'm opting another sport over football and not going to the s**thole that is Vale Park and the surrounds.
Off to Derbyshire CCC to watch Shrewsbury in the final of the ECB National Knockout competition against Cambridge Granta
£10 on the coach, free admission to the game.
I missed Shrewsbury at Lords in 1993 as I went up to Grimsby to watch Town (1-1, McNally from virtually the half-way line)
In those days I didn't miss any Town games, full-stop, but also part of me always wishes I had of gone to the home of cricket to watch Shrewsbury lift the trophy.

If we don't take at least 800 then we'll be a laughing stock.

Those who aren't planning on going, shouldn't criticise. Because you're only criticising others like yourself.

Going with two other lads on another jollyboys outing. Also going to Arsenal, but can well understand why some fans can't make it. In the current economic climate people have to make decisions. We usually go to about 8/10 away games, mostly those that are close to home, Vale, Crewe, Burton etc and maybe one or two further afield like Bradford. If we don't take more than 500 well, so be it, i would'nt call it disgraceful like some. SMRF.... do you go to any home games?

I've got to persuade Clive to make the trip up for this one. His trusty motor suffered a puncture on the way back from Bristol and they didn't make it back until 4am and the car is still in the garage as we speak. I'm sure he'll come round though.

Lots of factors contributing to a low attendance for this I think.
£20+ per ticket. 1pm KOs are just rubbish. Arsenal game just around the corner. The surrounding area of the ground has zero appeal to visiting supporters. Despite being faily close by, it is just an all round poor away day experience. I'm still going though...

Going with 6 others. Got 2 tickets yesterday and going to get 5 more tomorrow. Got to admit disappointing if we only sold 300 sold far. But with Vale being £20.50 and Arsenal just round the corner, not surprising in this economic climate.

Were Huddersfield not boycotting Bramall Lane because the tickets for Sheffield United were around the £25 mark?
Mind you they won 3-0!

It’s hardly a surprise if we don't take as many as we normally do though is it. All eyes are on next week and the trip to Arsenal. I know it’s a league game, three points on offer. But you suspect a fair few just want to get this one out of the way and look forward to the League Cup tie. If you are looking where to spend your money then it’s just no competition. And granted its only ten quid to get in to Arsenal you still have to get down there and sort yourself out when you arrive.
Every other season Port Vale is a highlight, a local(ish) game that for the most part has something riding on it because both sides consider themselves capable of pushing for promotion. This time around though this game has been completely overshadowed by another played a couple of days later…

Have not go my ticket and I dont think may of the ASFC have yet either, but were all going... should be around 600 there I bet.... brisk sales the last couple of days. Having said that with the cost of the Arsenal game, would not be shocked to is it lower.
Add to the fact that the ticekt at Vale is a mental £20.50 - Where does that pricing come from in that area, surely thats a most of there benifits gone in one afternoon?

Absolutely no competition when it comes to deciding which game we'll be attending..... ....so jog on numb-nuts!!

£20+ for a L2 fixture is a joke, you can watch Premier League football for that (some of the lesser teams). For that reason alone, this year, i shall not be attending !!

As others have said its all down to costs. My lad asked if we can go to away to Port Vale, 1 Adult and 2 kids £39.00 Travel £10.00 Total £49.00
Arsenal 1 Adult and 2 kids £20.00 Travel fuel £20.00 Tube £11.00 Total £51.00
couldnt do both so gave my kids the choice, they chose Arsenal

For me I was tempted but: - even though i've not been to Vale, i'll probably be able to go there again some other time in the future, and it's £20.50, plus coach £13 = £33.50. Plus in addition none of my mates are going, and it's likely to be a nasty edgy atmosphere - £10 for Arsenal, where i've never been and very unlikely to get the chance to go again, plus 2 £13 train tickets to get there = £36, plus in addition 2 mates are going.
End of the day its bad timing, but no comparison really.

We are Hypocrites in fairness, laughing at Herefords 500 coming here, when we cant even take that many to Port Vale. Bit poor that.

It's obvious why we're not taking that many - Vale's high prices, economic climate, over 4,000 going to Arsenal, early kick off, cricket final and the unattractiveness to many of the exchanges with the Vale hostiles. Still not decided whether to go myself. I expect it'll end up being around 600 on the day, which is fine. I don't care whether anyone thinks that's poor, laughable or anything else. It'll be noisy enough if we win.
