Before the game today in the powerleague you said our midfeild are not good enough do you still think the same?
Before the game today you told me Disley was useless do you still think the same?
Before the game today you said that Robinson will not score more than 6 goals this season do you still think the same?
Before the game today you said the team would not score many goals do you still think the same?
before the game today you said we would not finish in the top seven do you still think the same?
Before the game today you said we need a 20 goal a season striker do you still think the same?
Before the game you said the team would not score 70 goals to get promotion do you still think the same?
Before you answer take into mind we beat a decent Bradford team.

Yes but got a far better manager, Mr Simpson relayed on transfer funds.
Turner doesn't need them.

Before you answer take into mind we beat a decent Bradford team. Maybe if you read my comments in Just back you might have been able to answer them for yourself. But here goes: Midfield: Yes Disley; Actually never said that but one swallow and all that Robinson: Ditto Team Goals: Yes still need an out and out striker League Position: yes Striker: Yes Score Goals: Isn't this a repeat of the earlier question. Now a question for you did you after the Town scoring 4 on the opening day two years ago expect the Town to struggle to make the playoffs 9 months later. Yesterday the Town played well in the second half but were lucky to go in at half time level so don't lets get over excited just yet Martin there is a long way to go and there are always room for improvement in performance and players.

Ed if we play the same way as we did yesterday we will not need to improve to finish in the top three.

We are one game in here, nothing can be argued with sufficient evidence to back it up. The time to say "told ya so" will be at the end of may.

Ed if we play the same way as we did yesterday we will not need to improve to finish in the top three. If only it were that easy... If only we'd play the same way we did against Everton in the Cup way back...we'd be a top flight side by now... Lets not get carried away, if the past few seasons have taught us owt its that...

I will round it all up here Ed you made yourself look a bit silly with what you said about the team yesterday. If you think this was a one off game you are wrong as i know you seen us play the same against Coventry and Tranmere.

you made yourself look a bit silly with what you said about the team yesterday. to be fair heavenly, you made yourself look silly with your undieing support for simpson over the past 2 years. dont think to this day you have admitted you where wrong and Ed was right. be nice if you could be a man about it and admit your error of judgement and that despite all the stick and ridicule you and others gave Ed, he was infact right.

How is Ed right? Simmo got us within extra time at a wembley when we were beaten by a dodgy corner. IF that makes him right then i am wrong

Peters was never in the same league as simmo. Did peters ever get a player as good as holty in? Need i say any more. Anyway you are as bad as Ed as all this is in the past i am looking at what is happening now to make my point unlike you and Ed. Happy days are here again

Just out of interest, Ed, what did you make of some of our new signings? I know you posted a (perfectly sensible) thread the other day about not judging them after one game, but I'd still be interested to hear your first impressions.
For me, the team definitely looks stronger and is capable of retaining possession and using the ball much better than last year's.
From my point of view, I thought Harrold in particular looks a more skilful, intelligent player than I'd previously given him credit for. Also, I was impressed by how few times Wright gave the ball away. Instead of just being a Chris Humphrey racehorse type, he looks capable of consistently good decision making when in possession.

Peters was never in the same league as simmo. Did peters ever get a player as good as holty in? Need i say any more. Happy days are here again Martin you are excelling. Peters got us to Wembley with a team that were on low wages and cost £10k. Holt was a big signing but for a 2nd division side developing players is the key. In that area all we need to look at is Hart and Edwards players going nowhere when Peters over. Tell me one players besides Holt brought in by Simpson thats made the club money. I agree this is all in the past but you seem to want to constantly resurrect it. Unfortunately you post is so full of e that you need to be corrected. Liam the important thing yesterday was that the team was a team and they had a plan they kept to. Some players were better than lasts seasons team others I would rate as poorer but at the moment I'd rather leave it at that until we have seen them a few more times.

Peters was never in the same league as simmo. Did peters ever get a player as good as holty in? Need i say any more. well yes actually, can you tell me what good getting holty in did? Helped get us to a play off final? well yes he did. Peters did the same without siging holt or a big money signing like him. to be fair Heavenly, i dont particularly have a great admiration for either manager, niether did what we hoped they would ultimately, i have a bit of a dislike for simsons i guess, but purely because he had us playing the worst football i have ever seen played, being so dull i seriously considered this year not renewing my season ticket. a big issue for me. but lets face facts here, you are as plainly biased towards simpson as Ed appears to be towards Peters. your just as blinkered and at times down right sad the way you defend simpson and his tenure. as for the present team, i dont subscribe to the "turner is our hero" stuff. he did good things here 30 years ago, it means nothing now. i will be overjoyed if he gets us promoted but dont expect me to blindly follow if things do not go to plan just because its graham turner.

The feel good factor has deffo gone through the roof now. Any thoughts on our goal scoring Ed? Midfield still not good enough either Martin for 35 minutes last night our central midfield was woeful, we did not close down and to be honest for the whole 90 minutes it lacked bite. I'm amazed to say it but last night we missed McIntyre. Yes we scored 4 goals against Charlton's reserves. As long as I remember the Town have always done well against teams that played football where we have struggled is against teams that are a tight physically strong unit. It is easy to get carried away the best game last season was the 3 - 3 draw with a good young Ipswich side unfortunately if was downhill fast after that.
