Why has it taken GP 2 weeks to come up with his comments, the confidence of recent good results? If he was concerned about the support he should have had the confidence to make these comments on the back of the match that he was referring to, ie the Wycombe game.
I like GP, he is a strong character with clear ideas but I do find some of his comments to be ill considered. If he keeps us up and takes us forward next year then he can say what he likes, but in the meantime, when he sits in the dugout or when his players go out on to the field then he and they are there to be heros or villains. Surely that has always been a part of football and why he took the job.

Reading the posts on this thread says to me that if results go against Shrews the fans will be on GP's back quicker than if he had kept quiet. He also states in tonights paper that the fans moaning is part of the reason Shrews haven't had any success over the last 20 years, that has to be one of the biggest load of b****** i have read from any manager anytime.

I agree with the last part of your post, however the first part of your post states that you have read through the thread that can't be so, as many have posted that whatever the result or current situation many would still moan regardless if results go our way or not .

Bernard Mcnally is currently being praised and the team congratulated due to current form, however not so long back many wanted him out and disagreed with his postmatch coments your point being ...........

Do you not think that Gary Peters might just be trying to wind our own fans up a bit to try and prove him wrong?
There is a bit of psychology going on here
I have been to away grounds that have been like morgue's and while the Meadow can be a little quiet I have known it to be absolutely rocking, completely crazy, and very vocal against the opposition and referees
but we have got a bit quiet, and he has deliberately lit a firecracker under us and run away, hoping for a reaction, which he has got, and for that he should be congratulated
the big test will be against Kiddy, and I for one will shout louder and join in more often, because I don;t want him thinking I am a loser of a fan

My point was until today you all seemed to agree with whatever GP said but now some of you are questioning his comments? and think he should of kept quiet if Gp has managed to shut up some of the spectators that sit in the wakeman Stand, Myself and the rest of the make the wakeman sing brigade will be delighted, a manager that says it how he see's it, with no bulls**t,,, I also miss Mick Moan's, prematch in the car entertainment

My point being while results go in GP'S favour everything will be fine but when they don't some fans will be only to pleased to ram todays comments down his throat. GP's record since arriving includes improved results and visual changes/tatics off the pitch, to regulars have improved no end, you failed to point that out from this MB that many can't see how he can't do wrong. We also had a spell where results didn't go our way ie Mansfield at home & Wycombe i'm a regular on this MB and i saw no post where STFC fans rammed GP's comments back down his throat

And what is exactly wrong with his comments made today , everything GP's said is fact, or are you trying to make something more than what it is ?
