This is would be great fun for the neutral fan. I'm hoping to see all three games. I suppose I'll be cheering on TNS .

Given that actual TNS support is in the hundreds I went to a champs league qualifier a few years ago when they played Linfield. They filled their venue, and Linfield wouldn't bring too many. What does their ground hold? 1 or 2k?

Very little there at that time, a small changing room building, a post and rail fence (around probably only part of the pitch). No floodlights so an early kick off in August.

Shock 😲
Back to back league defeats for TNS.
They must be too focused on their European campaign.

I’ve been told that Djurgården have asked for 2,000 tickets! How many might Panathinaikos want, I wonder? Given that actual TNS support is in the hundreds, there's probably an argument for the away team to be given the West Stand (though perhaps not Astana). That would be fair, although I'd like locals (like me!) to get the chance to watch these games too. Whilst I'm not expecting a sell out (or anywhere near it), I expect the three games may attract an interesting mix of TNS fans, away fans (well not so much the first game), people from Shrewsbury/Shropshire and then potentially some further afield who want to witness a European match, particularly the Panathinaikos match. I wouldn't be surprised to see Panathinaikos & Djurgården be given the West Stand and then the South & East stands open for everyone else

Anyone got any idea how much this kind of deal would make for the club? I wouldn't get too excited, if you think this will right the wrong, I suspect it will be a scratch on the surface of STFC's Financials. I don't think anyone is suggesting that it's going to transform the club. But considering we are a club who are asking fans to do tasks such as litter-picking to save money, renting out the ground for 3 european games is going to bring in some much needed additional revenue (plus exposure)

Not sure but I know that Sky are not happy with our current L standard of floodlighting. Whether the same applies to UEFA, who knows?

I reckon this CEO press meeting tomorrow is to announce that all attendees to the TNS EURO matches have to bring Flashlights to achieve the correct illumination for the Sky Camera's. You heard it here first

Seen people on X and Facebook suggesting that Panathinaikos will bring thousands and smash up the ground. Seems unlikely. Looks like there was only about 6k at their first home game of the season in the league, whereas Djurgardens get about 20k at home.
I imagine Panathinaikos will bring about 800, Djurgardens about 1.5k and Astana about 50.
I’ll probably head down if the tickets are priced reasonably. Will be a bit embarrassing to be seen supporting TNS though.

I agree that fans are getting carried away though, a trip to Shrewsbury isn't going to be a a massive draw for their fans but a lot of it will depend on how they are doing in the competition, if they are already through/out then not many will travel, whereas if they need a win to qualify things could be different. At the very least you'll get UK based fans turning up, very similar to UK based Galatasary fans in that friendly.

Seems the games only on BT Sports4 tonigh is that right? Seems strange they’re not all on Sky if their home games are or have I just presumed it’s Sky?

There was a very interesting item about the Irish club Larne on breakfast news this morning. The reigning champions are the first Irish Premiership side to reach the main draw of a European competition, good luck to them. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4gdwp5j3q8o

I was there to Grizzly - as a young kid - got a fair few autographs from the town team, think they played in the red away shirts, with Oswestry in the 'Bristol Rovers' blue and white squares.

It feels like all of Greece supports Panathinaikos whenever I've been there on Holiday, - they seem a big club but I don't know how many will brave a trip to this part of the world.

I don't subscribe to sky sports or Btntwhatever. I just hope bbc sport gives equal coverage to Oswestry Town and Larne. I can't see the Shropshire Star coverage because of the pay wall. Don't know as yet if I am able to get Radio Shropshire tonight where I live. Anyway good look to the minnows and hope the big boys get bloody noses
