Man that back four is so so bad. Benning has regressed significantly, Hoole looks below par, and Pierre just isn’t good enough to be playing in League One. He looked like he was towing a caravan tonight. We need to start playing a three in midfield, with Winchester or Rossiter anchoring in front of the two central defenders. So many times tonight they played through balls between our central midfielders and centre backs. It was so easy. We’re just going to get battered every week if we play a two with a CAM in front. Hoole, Pierre and Nisala don't have a clue, can't do the basics, you just wait for them to mess it up, conceded another goal and cost us another game. Hurst picked them so the crap defence is down to him. If Hurst waits for January to bring in the defenders we need it will probably be too late, If we have no money for replacements we have a major problem. So what can we do, desperate times need desperate solutions so. Morgan Feeney is a defender trying him at center back, put bloxham in for the other center back can he be any worse than the ones we have now, or play nurse out of position as a center back or bring in one of the center backs from the youth team, iv not seen them this year so iv no idea if they are any good

Because Caldwell wrote the cheques The fact he wasn't going to play ball with the dof changes led to him being sacked , I presumed gross misconduct was the idea , but the PFA are pretty good at standing up for sacked managers and sorting out pay cheques they don't deserve , SC was a first class rogue who took our club for a ride got away with it and laughs in our face Spinning the line the chairman didn’t know about the overspend is ridiculous, again. The chairman spends his life at the club, to pretend he doesn’t control the club and gave free rein to BC and SC is utter nonsense. If I'd spent years drooling over cotterill and Caldwell and screamed for hurst coming back , I'd probably be looking to blame someone else now too , just to save my own face thankfully I did none of those and was quite the opposite

So Steve C was sacked. Gross Misconduct was "the idea" (these things are usually dealt with prior to the sacking of course) but then the PFA intervened. On behalf of a manager (where were the LMA?!!) They then sorted out an undeserved pay cheque which they are of course notorious for. Cots then laughed in our faces. Brilliant. oh wow I put pfa instead if lma thanks so much for pointing that out yes it was lma , my post might make sense now

On a serious note though, we should have Josh Feeney available soon (hopefully) and George Nurse is tentatively returning to first team contention.

Why do you keep saying it’s money he won’t get back ? Are the payments unsecured interest free loans to the company ? The fact that he’s paying money in means the bank overdraft ( if there is one ?? ) is lower meaning the club is worth the same amount ? The only thing that is depressing the value of the club is the constant chatter re the inability or refusal to attract investment and because of this the current poor squad and league position . And the fact that in all probability we will be in a lower division going forward based on curent squad and performances x If the club is worth £10m today and he puts £ 2m in tomorrow , do you think he's likely to get £12m for the club ? I don't What if he borrows £2m tomorrow against the club how much are you asking for the club then ? No wonder potential buyers are hanging back If he hadn’t put in the money then the company would have to have arranged alternative finance via commercial loans or further investment . So let’s say a loan of £2m entered the balance sheet then the initial value of £10m would need to reduced to £8m net after repayment of the loan. So on sale RW will have received the net £8m and RW still have the £2m in his pocket = £10m. Potentially, depending on the terms, we will have saved on interest and arrangement fees which we should be grateful for but no way will I agree that he’s “lost” his £2m.

RW might say that’s the sale price but doesn’t mean it is its value. The value is what an arms length purchaser is prepared to pay.

Didn't Roland value it when the club gave him self shares in return for the training ground - if that is the case then at that level the club is valued at the face value of its shares i.e. £2.5m. If he has a different valuation in mind then the club should have paid fewer shares for the training ground ? I guess that he could argue that the only value of the shares come in when you get a controlling stake and so a massive share premium is applied to any sale of a holding that has control. Still, not entirely sure I'd be happy if I was a minority shareholder if that is the case.

We need them Fully agree we need them back in the team, but it’s a really big ask of them both to step into the side and improve things Nurse has hardly played in 2 years and while J Feeney has good potential it’s asking a lot of a young lad to come in and fit right into league one football and play 30 plus games this season I know the budget is tight but we look so short on defenders that any injuries or suspensions are going to leave us struggling, and those players we do have come with issues about their quality and fitness.

Well I’m sure Josh Feeney is quicker than tortoise Pierre and better keeping and passing the ball. Also players do not lose talent overnight. At the first available opportunity get rid of Pierre. An 80 per cent J Feeney is good enough for us.

Absolutely, same as Houses. I'll bear that in mind when I put in to buy my council house , I'll let them know what I'm willing to pay But of course also what the seller is prepared to accept. In house sales both parties will usually obtain a valuation and then agree a compromise or not as the case may be. But if RW has decided his value is £10m so be it but let’s not insist that’s what the true value is . Usually when a house doesn’t sell the seller is asking too much or the market conditions aren’t right .

It isn't even September and we look odds on for relegation already. That can change of course, but it seems unlikely given our financial problems.
If it continues like this, and the financial situation is as bad as we're told, there will come a point when the sensible option might be to put the company into administration, if we can get the points deduction to hit in what would be a relegation season anyway. That would also make it easier for a takeover to happen.
I say this without knowing what the rules on administration specify - ie when the points deduction would bite. I'm ready to be corrected on that.

Cotterill got off to a bad start a few seasons ago and Town got through.
Roland has to take responsibility for the club until a suitable owner is found.
If he loves the club he will do the right thing. I'll leave that up to individuals to interpret what that is.

Out of curiosity including the purchase price how much in his total time as owner of the club has RW put in of his "own money".
Be a curious figure to know if any of the financially inclined or the insiders can estimate.

Tired old debate about Roland selling up - isn’t it time to drop the anchor as usual?
Simple fact of buying and selling, if he’s desperate to sell and nobody will pay his price, he’ll have to either lower the asking price, or tough it out whilst the club loses value with every passing day.

This topic was meant to be Bolton (H) But the last few posts were about the chairman who in my opinion gets a lot of unfair criticism. As a longstanding supporter living down south I see the likes of Hereford , Chester and until recently Wrexham and think we could have done a lot worse . Yes this season is going to be tough but Ii am sure the results will improve
