Flares in Downing Street, overturned police cars, those idiots need to be firmly stamped on, in the same way as the Just Stop Oil law breakers.

The thing is that Farage, Yaxley-Lennon, Anderson, Hopkins, Tate et al are actually engaging in stochastic terrorism. Just enough incitement to enrage their foot soldiers, but not enough to actually get into any legal trouble. Every word is chosen to put a certain target into play without actually painting the target and putting just the right amount of rage into their followers, but not too much. Basically handing them a lighted match and showing them where the blue touch paper is located.

And conversely we have the likes of Priti Patel using the situation as selfish opportunism in her Tory Leadership contest 🙄

As I say I’ve not seen that, and yes the EDL was disbanded years ago according to Google, sadly the Muslim Defence League is out counter protesting with violence and weaponry this weekend, I have been saying for years now that civil wars in the western world is inevitable, this is likely a taster of worse to come - and it’s all on our politicians for the last 25 years from both parties, Starmer’s statement the latest ill judged input

How about condemning it rather than saying you’ve been predicting it?

Condemned it here, you didn’t look very hard blueandamber.proboards.com/thread/107243/general-election-4-july?page=6Not just Starmers fault, but the fault of our elected politicians over the last 2-3 decades But make no mistake, Starmer has made an appalling start as Prime Minister - cutting benefits from some of the most needy in society, pensioners most of who will have paid taxes their whole life, whilst accelerating the illegal boat crossings costing the tax payer billions a year, and telling anybody who is fed up with this situation that they are “far right football hooligan thugs”.

Local press in Sunderland reporting on the first of the Sunderland riot arrests appearing in Court this morning and placed on months remand ahead of sentancing in Crown Court in September, despite offering a guilty plea. Sign there are likely to be some very long sentances handed out in the coming days
Ironically due to the anti protest laws introduced by the last government to deal with the Just Stop Oil protects some of the rioters could be facing 12 year sentences. Drunken Friday night rumble with the Police not looking quite such a good idea now

Drunken Friday night rumble with the Police not looking quite such a good idea now I've seen plenty of people on the right celebrating the protests/riots as they see it as some sort of turning point, it could be but not in the way they perceive. For starters, the number of protesters is still small, yes they may be big by recent far right protests standard but it's a tiny percentage of the population. And unfortunately for them, I think their actions will have thrown away chances of more moderate people joining their protests. I believe there are lots of people with legitimate concerns over attacks/stabbings, grooming gangs, asylum seekers being put in hotels, etc. , however they will not want to be associated with groups who are attacking the police, setting fire to buildings and smashing up & looting local businesses And then that brings us onto the people & groups involved, they are likely to be decimated by the jail sentences handed out which will put off people from joining in, in any future protests. I suspect any future planned protests will either be cancelled or have tiny numbers once people realise the jail sentance they could get, or simply don't want to be shown publicly to be amongst the protests. The ironic thing is in lots of cases, the protesters have effectively done the police's work for them as there is so much filming on phones going on which shows what their fellow protesters are doing. There are going to be a lot of people who get jumpy when their doorbell goes

There are going to be a lot of people who get jumpy when their doorbell goes I can't say I have a massive amount of sympathy, and people need to be responsible for their own actions, but think a lot of people will have got caught up in the riots over the last few days who have been hyped up by the press and talk of "taking back our country". They will be the ones getting the long sentances while those hyping them up sit at home in comfortable posh homes getting a big pay cheque from the press about how dreadful everything is and how the country is about to collapse. You would hope the long sentances being handed out will make people think before they decide to get involved. The quotes from the Sunderland Court paint a pretty bleak picture "The court hears Hodgson has six previous convictions for 11 offences. Annalisa Moscardini, defending, said: “She has alcohol problems. She had gone out earlier that day, she was not involved in the original march. She had been in the pub, the pub was closed down [for safety reasons] and she came out into the street and was very drunk and angry. “She [was seen] pushing a bin…she has long running alcohol problems and mental health issues. She would like mental health input…she acted stupidly.” Hodgson has been remanded into custody until September 2." "Andrew Smith, 41, of High Street East, Sunderland, was the first to appear this morning. He pleaded guilty to violent disorder at Keel Square and was crying throughout proceedings. Paul McAlinden, defending, said Smith was "entitled to credit" for his guilty plea and "recognises the wrong decisions he made". He added that Smith has issues with alcohol and that "alcohol played a part on Friday night". Smith was remanded into custody and will be sentenced on September 2" Josh Kellett, 29, of Southcroft, Washington, also known as Josh Major, pleaded guilty to violent disorder in the city centre. He was seen “throwing a stone” at police while wearing a balaclava. John Garside, prosecuting, told the court that Kellett was identified from his tattoos and arrested. The court was told he had 20 previous convictions for 32 offences, including a public order offence and violence. He was remanded into custody and will be sentenced at crown court on September 2."

Rumours of a potential gathering in Shrewsbury on Saturday - I hoped our Town was better than this... I suspect it won't happen. Had it been organised for over the past weekend then you may have got some going along, but the 'momentum' of the protests will have died out by the weekend, plus as I've said people will be put off by the arrests/sentences being dished out this week And it's Flower Show weekend, if the council catch anyone in the town under 80 then they'll round them up and put them in a camp at Battlefield

Priti Patel who is going for Conservative leader you mean? Our course she will be trying to keep her nose “clean”. The written and verbal statements I have seen from Farage this week have been spot on, condemning violence and thuggery (on both sides!!) whilst offering totally logical solutions to sort this mess

He suggested that the culprit was under investigation by the security services and questioned whether the attack was a terrorist one. He is very careful to not actually make accusations, but to hide them behind 'just asking the question', unfortunately his followers do exactly as he intends by putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5. He might not say the words, but the intent to cause discord is there in every single utterance the man makes.
The Tories had years to put in place strategies that would reduce the asylum backlog, but that would have cost them the Reform/Brexit Party/UKIP votes that they've needed over the last few election cycles. Patel, Braverman, et al have been using the outrage over asylum seekers and channel crossers to push the right wing agenda of the ERG wing of the Tory party for years, but now they are seemingly trying to row back in the vain attempt to appeal to moderate Tories.
Nice to see the wife of a Tory councillor and registered child minder getting nicked yesterday for a vile and hate filled rant on Twitter calling for the asylum hotels to burnt to the ground with the people still in them.

“The Tories had years to put in place strategies that would reduce the asylum backlog, but that would have cost them the Reform/Brexit Party/UKIP votes that they've needed over the last few election cycles.” To be clear, There isn’t an asylum backlog, these are illegal immigrants who are being human trafficked in to the UK via many safe countries in Europe Labour are going to let every single one of these remain in the UK, and many more who will now travel over as they see Labour as a soft touch. This is not only dangerous as they are usually undocumented and untraceable, but also detrimental to our lives (housing crisis, lack of GP and dentist appts, public services collapsing), and a population rise that is out of control will make things worse The most simple and effective strategy to “reduce the asylum backlog” would be to return ever single person who comes across illegal back to France - that this hasn’t been happening is a disgrace to British citizens. That is on the Tory party, and now on Labour too - two cheeks of the same stinking arse
