Liam Sercombe the 34 year old midfielder ? That would be depressing if that is the profile of player we are after.

Stephen Humphrey’s been released by Wigan. Wouldn’t mind seeing him in blue and amber again.

Sensible suggestions please folks 😁 I doubt anyone will have heard of our strikers that we start the season with (unless Udoh has a change of heart). Will be up and coming youngsters with potential from a Premier or Championship club that we havnt heard of, bit like Carlton Morris. As long as it's not players we havnt heard of from LOI it will do for me.

One striker I’ve seen suggested on Twitter and one I can see happening is Mo Faal on season long loan from West Brom.
Had two good loan spells at Walsall & Doncaster last year and scored goals In league 2.
Large mobile target man good at holding the ball up & a threat.
With MM’s local connections you’d imagine this is one with legs

Thinking back to the 3rd placed finish season under Hurst can anybody recall how that seasons playing budget compered with previous seasons? Looking back on it a side with Godfrey, Morris and Henderson, alongside Nsiala, Nolan, Whalley and Rodman you would think it was quite an expensively assembled team, but I don't recall that really being the case at the time, and the accounts that year showed it wasn't a case of "splashing the cash" that led to the high league finish. I'm hoping that we can do something similar this season and get a couple of loan players in from a higher level who we give game time and experience too and get the benefits of for a season, and go onto bigger and better things. I guess its a case of higher league teams wanting to be sure we have decent set-up and opportunities for their players, which Hurst might provide

Godfrey, Morris Henderson were all young and unknown back then so wouldnt be on a fortune. Nsiala, Nolan, Rodman and Whalley were all just journeyman that Hurst improved so wouldnt have been on big wages either.

Nsiala cost £25000 from Hartlepool .....what a bargain he was,so to was nolan.rodman a free transfer.... I'd never even heard of him..... Brilliant for us too......so all in all it can be done, with not much outlay🤷🤷🤷

I'd argue he's actually possibly a bit out of reach, and rejecting Cheltenham contract shows hes got something better. Could see a return to Bristol Rovers

As for 34 year old Sercombe, let's let some other team succumb to signing him. MM and PH can get younger, hungrier, players.

We’re interested in a loan move for a Crystal Palace goalkeeper - got to be either Joe Whitworth or Remi Matthews

Assume our interest in a loan goalkeeper isn't to come in and bench warm? So, when do we hear that Mr Marosi is fixed up somewhere?
PH has presumably found the master plan that worked so well last time in a desk he didn't fully clear in his hasty exit.

Like to know if Frankie Beckles is going to be given a chance (to compete as no 1) or has he already left the club? Or are the players coming through just not good enough?

It's all very quiet on the academy front at the moment, little to no news on the Town site for a few months now. We’ve released a couple of keepers the last two seasons for free. Reece Thompson plays for TNS (No 3 keeper I think) Jaden Bevan ‘promising young keeper’ signed professional terms May 21, extended May 22 sent on loan 22/23 released end of 23…. Just seems a waste of investment with no prospect of progression.

I understand all academy players eligible to be taken on as first year pro's have been released which is bad news and not yet released 😕

U21s player of the season. Has played a lot for all of their youth teams and played 2 premier league games too last season. No surprise Hurst looking at loan market for keepers. Reckon he will get a loan and a more experienced keeper to compete for No1 but probably with the assumption loan keeper (possibly this fella) will be No1
