You’d certainly think so, problem is fans memories of previous ‘golden eras’ that failed to get us anything 🥃. Just hope it’s a showpiece spectacle for the right reasons 🤞 🍻

After losing to Iceland I hope we see a much better performance but this is England so who knows

We have a similar problem to that which we had with the ‘golden generation’.   The inability to fit all the top class players into their most effective positions.   Sadly we can’t play 6 in midfield.

I also think we have the weakest back 5 for years, hopefully Shaw will be fit enough to take a full part later but goalie and centre backs don’t engender confidence.

However, tournament football allows teams time to develop and I think we will get better in later rounds and will not be surprised to see some of the newer players breaking into the starting XI.

The Euros qualifying groups are all tough but this time, with a 24 team tournament, four third-placed teams will go through so a total of 4 points may well be enough to qualify. With the attacking players we have we should be OK but Southgate has to sort the defence and midfield pretty quickly to give the team a solid base and allow the attack to flourish. Like all first games in tournaments it is imperative not to lose it and put the team on the backfoot. Looking forward to an improved England performance from those of late and a win would be a great start.

I got the England suit M&S made a few years ago, sadly a little too slim fit for me, but now fits my son like a glove.

Plenty of police about for sure but a very chilled, relaxed atmosphere around the fan park in Stuttgart today. Plenty of Danes and Slovenes of course, not so many there supporting either Poland or Holland, looks as though a good few Scots have made Stuttgart their base for the tournament (they play Hungary here later on) and one or two England fan spotted too. Its a decent setup with loads of outlets for food and drink (even if things are on the expensive side). Plan to head down there again this evening for the England game, just hope the rain holds off.  Fair play to the Germans, as with 2006 they know what they are doing.👍

After the goals we’ve seen in all the matches so far, I expect England to bring the tournament back down to earth with a sterile 0-0. Hope I’m wrong though.

I think its still up in the air at the minute isn't it? Reported it could be England fans or locals (Albanians) who attacked Serbian fans having a drink in a bar but they are unsure. Have mates in Gelsenkirchen at the moment and they've not seen any trouble, they're having a great time up there, no issues.
