Just one more to sign/confirm departure now that Pierre signed in the week - Udoh. Has anyone heard any rumours either way? I personally think he’s off but would be happy if he signed. Yes, not heard much about Udoh. So far my earlier predictions I've called all 4 right, I'd be very happy to get my Udoh prediction wrong though. I said he would be gone.

One presumes he is off. But he clearly has an affinity with the club, been here longer, supported him through injuries and has lived in the area for quite some time.
So probably weighing up the offer a bit more than compared to other offers a bit more than Marosi & Dunkley.
Still don't think he will stay though.

Yes I am sure Dan wants to stay but has to seriously consider better offers. Very difficult decision for him. Hope very much he stays. We wont get better within our budget plus its great for supporters to have players who they know want to be at the club.

As much as it’s unlikely, I’d give anything for him to stay and have the Armband next season. Even if he’s not a leader he’s a captain everyone (fans) would get behind, which is already an improvement on Dunkley as captain.

Take with an absolute mountain of salt but I was told Jack Price was being chased by Wrexham quite heavily, even involving a few calls from Parkinson himself

Yes I think we’re all taking it for granted on Price that the ball’s in our court, I’ve heard he was very upset and insulted by only being offered a trial and is strongly considering other local options, including both Wrexham and Birmingham.

I thought it was a bit cheeky too. There’s no denying his talent just his fitness - having said that look how much money we’ve wasted on players in previous seasons so maybe Price is worth a punt.
If we keep both Udoh & Price, we’ve got half a chance.

Price has a huge job of proving his fitness, to me he did nothing to prove it in his trial over the last weeks of the season.
We simply cant take a punt on this on the wages he is likely to be on. Those sort of wages we cant have him playing a few minutes cameo or being on the treatment table.
If we miss out by doing this I couldnt blame the club for being hesitant.

I’ll miss Marosi’s shot stopping but definitely not his kicking!!! The reaction to Marosi going is interesting, people don't seem that bothered and the view is a decent goalkeeper isn't too hard to find. But how many times last season did he got MOM and/or make crucial saves to earn us points? Over the season, I suspect his saves earnt us more points than Udoh's goals but it will be the latter that fans will be most disappointed to see leave If the silly mistakes that the defence made can be cut back there might not need to be so many point saving saves?

If that is your wish, personally I'd settle for a good defence, who can add the odd goal or assist, and a decent goalie, aiming for safety around Christmas.

I thought much the same of Marosi and his clapping of the South Stand, I don't think he'll be between the sticks next season. Still pleasing that Benning is going to be here for another two seasons. Marco is getting lots of praise, deservedly so for his performances throughout the season but I can’t erase the memory of his nightmare at Oxford where he gift wrapped the three points for a couple of awful errors. I wish him well but if he ends up with that lot up the road, here’s to more of those showings.

I agree that Price is a risk but I think with his wish to be here, we could’ve found a sensible middle ground that would’ve made the risk worth it rather than alienate someone who would instantly improve us and have an immediate affinity with the fans.
For instance Dunkley came here extremely injury prone and on much bigger wages but look what an asset he was in that first season, you’d never have known about the injuries the year before.
So yeah, I’d have Price as this years sole ‘fitness risk’ if it were me. Please spare me that he’s yet another of our players in talks with Wrexham though, they can’t be interested in all of them!
As for Udoh, he’s off. He would’ve signed by now and we are more likely to see him here in pre season for someone else, and then twice again in the league.

Wrexham can afford to take a few punts whereas we can’t, especially whilst Roland is at the rudder with little to no fresh investment…..

I've no doubt Marosi kept us in League 1 singlehandedly so we have to be grateful to him for that. The fact he had to make so many outstanding saves was down to our defensive frailties. If Hurst can put that right, then a good competent keeper will do fine for us.
I'd love Udoh to stay and if it does come down to money I hope we at least make a tempting offer. No doubt he will get a lot more at Championship clubs but risks being a fringe player. Not an easy decision for him but he's refused to sign an extension for six months so I expect him to go.
I was hugely impressed by Jack Price in his brief appearances last season. A superb player, an obvious captain and a joy to watch. It's all about his fitness and it must be very tempting for the club to take a gamble on him but they've had their fingers burned badly recently. He's an expensive player and we need 30 plus games a season out of him. Two years in the treatment would be disastrous in our current financial state.
He spent six months at his hometown club Shrewsbury trying to get fit. I'm not aware of Wrexham or Birmingham making him the same offer. We can only hope he proves his fitness and signs for his hometown club, the one he's always dreamed of playing for.

We simply cant take a punt on this on the wages he is likely to be on. Whereas you would think Wrexham and Blues are better placed to do so (if indeed they have shown an interest as mentioned above). Appreciate Price has to look after his own interests and more so at this stage of his career but I would hope he would be aware and understanding of that.

I’ve heard the same Very upset and insulted? I'm sure in no way was the offer intended to snub him, we simply don't have the money to take the risk. If we did Elliot B would probably also still be here. Both highly respected for their skills when firing on all cylinders.

Various things need to be considered. The time out injured, the severity of the injury plus the amount of match time he was able to get to build his match fitness. I would imagine that insurance would not be keen to pay his wages if he had a repeat of the same injury. This would mean the club would have to pay him in full for all the time he is incapacitated.

Have you had it confirmed that he’s off?? Have you considered he might be weighing up his options and taking his time…. Or he might be negotiating a better deal…. Or he might have had other things planned…. Or he might have just got married…. Or he might currently be on honeymoon…? Perhaps he might be concentrating on one of the above in the immediate term 🤷🏼♂️ Just a thought!!
