Seems like there may be a bit of movement on the contracts
Benning apparently has signed Udoh is off Marosi is off Chey is off
Well that’s what’s being put around social media anyway, so must be right 😂

Never thought it likely Udoh, Marosi or Dunkley would sign. Wages the main issue undoubtedly.
Thought Benning and Pierre would sign. 1 down 1 to go from the sounds.

If this is the case they'll both be off rather than halve their current wage to fall in with the new reduced wage structure (and can't really blame them - short career, final payday etc. etc.). Udoh I've read is holding out for 3k, if that's the case maybe there's more chance of him sticking around.

I believe Udoh was offered £3k months ago, double his current wage, I cant see us being held to ransom for more, it would be great if he stayed loyal and signed it but I have no idea what its like to be in his shoes so cant really judge. its a little annoying to see him going public announcing his desire to stay and all that all whist having a nice offer in his back pocket that only needs signing to make that dream come true

Let's hope they all decide to stay/go as soon as possible so that Paul Hurst knows where he stands in terms of team rebuilding.

Decent goalkeepers at this level are ten a penny, think back to the number of quality loan players we've had. For teams like Shrewsbury having a well paid No. 1 seems like a bit of a luxury. Udoh would get 15-20 goals in a half way decent league one team, and I can't imagine he won't get the offer he wants elsewhere. Good to see Benning sign and I hope Pierre does too, otherwise, the sooner it's all sorted the better so Hurst knows where he stands.

Would like to think that Dan will stay but I guess everyone is replaceable, he's a hard working lad and would be welcome in a lot of squads.
I'd say he plays better with a second striker but he's managed double figures in a team that could barely score.
I've been resigned to Marosi going for some time again there will be other goalkeepers.

I wonder if Pierre has been offered something on the basis that Dunkley goes anyway, similar to Pennington last summer.
Feeney and Sraha is an inexperienced centre pairing, that said with Pierre isn't also quite slow as well, unless Sraha plays.

If there's truth to the £3k rumours then I'd be tempted to push the boat out a little bit more to see if we can convince Udoh to stay, on a sensible speculate to accumulate basis. In his last two seasons of being fit he's been pretty good to great and scored goals in two pretty bang average to poor teams, so at the very least we'll probably get that again, and if we improve as a team and/or he scores more then that's even better and we've got a chance of selling him on for decent money. Teams are more likely to splash the cash on a goalscorer than any other position, and simultaneously we'll find it harder to replace him, especially if rumours of another budget cut are true. And it would be good to reward a nice lad who's seemingly open to the idea of staying here.

Anyone that saw the way Marosi clapped the south stand in the final game would be left in doubts that he was saying goodbye, a real shame as he’s the best permanent keeper we’ve had in years and years, but I don’t begrudge him. Likewise Dunkley, an incredibly performer in his two years here, but we’ve seen signs since Hurst came in that he might not be irreplaceable after all.
Udoh will be the saddest loss and hardest to replace but who can blame him. He was incredible in his breakout season under Cotterill, massively unfortunate to lose the next season to the acl, and on returning has had to run himself into the ground chasing lost causes in the least attacking team in the league. Good luck to him having a crack in the Championship or upper reaches of league one.
And congrats to Benning on signing, he deserved it and good from him on signing it so early.

I thought much the same of Marosi and his clapping of the South Stand, I don't think he'll be between the sticks next season.
Still pleasing that Benning is going to be here for another two seasons.

Udoh has one decent contract left in his career. It'll be the only decent contract of his career if he was on £1.5k here up to now.
If he can go get £5k for two years - that's a serious shot in the arm finanically for the future.
He's been a good servant to the club and will deserve it.

Really pleased for Mal. I thought he improved as the season wore on. And f George can come back fit, we've got choices on the left. Personally, and perhaps it's just me being a softie, but I would have given Elliott another season as a squad player. But perhaps he didn't want that?

Good to see Mal Benning sign. Well deserved.Don’t expect any of the others to sign apart from Pierre.

2 year deal for Benning and deserved.
Similar to above, never expected Dunkley and Marosi to sign.
Udoh was the one maybe of those three, but still probably unlikely.
Unless Pierre offer is very small (which very much could the case), expect him to sign too.
Then it's a long summer to get some cheapo players in and some loans. Not sure how many they will be able to get in early though given those boundaries, as players will wait to see if they can get better offers and higher up clubs won't be looking to loan out until end of the window

If we’re not going to spend a comparatively bargain basement 3k a week on a double figure league 1 striker, we are going to be in some serious bother next season.

Pretty much as I expected when it was first anounced. Higher earners wont be signing, the 2 lower earners likely will (1 has already).

From last seasons showings I'd prefer Pierre over Dunkley anyway. I'd like Udoh to stay but he deserves a big pay day and isnt going to get that with us.

Dunkley really has fallen from grace over the last few months.
