We used to stay at the White Hart with work on a fairly regular basis, nice little hotel. If we had time out from work meetings we used to wander up the road to Betty's, if we could get in of course!

Why hang around to try and produce something with one of the smallest player budgets in the league, when the club could soon have new owners who will probably sack you anyway. I suspect he knows he's lucky to be managing again at this level and is in a no lose situation. If we do well next season, his reputation goes up If we struggle and he gets sacked, he can use the budgetary/off the field issues as an excuse and will find it easier to get a new role, having been sacked from a L1 side (as opposed to a L2 side) If we get new owners who sack him then similar to above, he's been sacked from a L1 side and will find it easier to get a role elsewhere

I thought his comments ahead of the Bolton game on Tuesday were remarkable. Basically preparing us for a hiding He used the phrase "lambs to the slaughter" before we played Portsmouth. I thought that was very odd. Perhaps he was hoping for one of those "we'll show him" reactions?

The post match interview with Hurst really bothered me, he was so dejected, so dispirited that I have to wonder if he will still be with us come the Summer. Th scale of the task that he has inherited may be just too much. No more dispirited than the rest of us. I couldn't wait to get out of the stadium at 0-1 down, but sadly didn't quite make to the exit before we inevitably went 0-2 down. I remember the good old days when you would see someone leave early and they would be just outside the stadium as the equaliser went in, will those days ever return?
Who would want to own a football club, it's been nothing but trouble since Covid hit. Did you beat Roland to the car park or does he nip "back stage" to console himself with another prawn sandwich? Can't be much fun watching the team you own playing at the moment, the team you planned would have had a go at the Championship by now.

I have absolutely no idea where I stayed with work, wonder how I got back after the restaurant? wonder how much I had had to drink? Do remember I found I didn't like Lemongrass....
After the cursory meeting the next day, off to Betty's.

There was no way I was going to miss an equaliser last Saturday. As you say, will those days ever return?

Not so sure Roland was there. I always take a look who’s in the Directors Box. There was a chap with a flat cap, our Financial Director another I couldn’t identify and Liam on his own in front of them. Can’t be sure as I’m towards the back of ten South Stand, I’m taking my monocular for the last game.

If people were expecting a magical transformation then they only have themselves to blame and probably still believe in the tooth fairy.
Hurst has brought back standards and some basic dugout competence and we did get a new manager bounce initially (we were excellent at Northampton and decent in games such as Derby away and Barnsley at home), however we’ve regressed back to nothing football and I don’t necessarily agree with some of his selections, substitutions and comments. I expected slightly better to be honest, but when looking at apportioning blame for this abject season he features low down my list.

But who can Hurst put in the team, apart from the usual garbage..... there's no players on the subs bench, that are good enough to come in,and improve the team...... there's no players in the squad worth selling,to get some money in for the club, apart from maybe marosi......that is dire tbh🤷🤷🤷

So since Hurst has returned our home form has been pathetic.
P9, W1, D2, L6
5 points out of a possible 27.
A measly 5 goals scored, 0.5 home goals, a game.
Second best again today too.
No wonder we couldn't even make it to 50 points.
If that was Taylor in charge there would have been much more an outcry, Hurst has got away with it.

I'll be judging hurst at Christmas after he's had some good months and a full pre season to clear out and mould the unit. The only thing he's got away with is securing our league one status when we were in utter free fall.

Any other manager would be criticised. He had time to improve these players but they obviously just didn’t want to do it for him. Perhaps they just didn’t see enough to respect him enough.

Happy he's at the helm of the barmy army.

I'd like to see even the same crop of players with a Hurst pre season under their belts. There can't be many of them capable of passing the physical test he demands.

But what about his away record??? That awful to was it???🤔 he'd never improve them players.... they're no not good enough!!and I said that 3 months into the season under Taylor....believe me,Hurst has done well to keep us in this division... I look forward to next season, with his own players, which will be fitter, faster, and organised

Disagree with this -it is hard to make a silk purse out of a sows ear -That is down to others -not Hurst and Doig imho

We will agree to disagree. If Hurst was that good he’d have got them onside. Other managers have taken over at clubs and done just that. For whatever reason he just couldn’t do it.

I look forward to next season, with his own players, which will be fitter, faster, and organised Think the summer recruitment is really key for Hurst and will be what he's judged on. If h can get a squad together that is fitter, faster and organised - which is his stock in trade, we should be ok in retaining league one football again next season. I don't think Hurst is a great man manager or tactical genius, its really down to recruiting a good squad of players that can play to his style. Looking back at his first time in charge whilst Hurst did end a poor start to the season and gave us a bounce, there were some pretty poor displays that season and we hardly pulled up any trees in staying up by a few points - so not that different to this season really. Think the time to judge Hurst is how well he recruits in the summer, and what style of play we have in place after 10 or so games of next season. How that recruitment process works with the Director of Football role will be interesting too - don't see why the two can't work together but do get a sense Hurst will have a very clear idea of the type of player he wants, rather than be given a set of players and told to work from him.

hurst needed 3 points today to nail down the stat that he had a better record this season than Taylor
he didn't manage it
that kind of tells a big story doesnt it

Ok,forget about Hurst for a minute......would we have stopped up with Taylor still in charge? results suggest we would have done yes , for the first half of the season we were crippled with injuries , and yet vocal fans cried and abused Taylor even after wins , when he left he was on target for over 49 points , along comes hurst and manages exactly 18 points from him 18 games , that's 46 for a season , his 16 games at Grimsby this season managed 14 points , So what are those vocal fans suggesting now , put hurst in charge they say , give him full control 🤩🤩
