When I read comments about how upstarts like FGR don’t deserve a place in the league I’m reminded that we were elected in place of long established clubs like New Brighton.

We were elected when the FL was expanded by 4 clubs to 92, so didnt replace anyone. Was us, Sc***horpe (who we played in our first game), and I think Gillingham and Colchester. Indeed we played New,Brighton in their final FL game in 50/51.

I was thinking the same but without looking did not know who we ousted , imagine in 2003 had someone like Telford Hereford or Chester replaced us after a vote by other league sides , it's hard to believe this ever happened

Watching live at 3.00p.m.. I was covering for you 😂 I'm gutted I couldn't make it , literally got home at 255 , signed into ifollow ,paid my £10, connected laptop to tv , was just about to have a bet on town at 18/5 and we scored , we hadn't even won the corner yet on my ifollow feed , that's why I usually turn off the scores app and also had to remove the twitter notifications as they can appear with spoilers

Yes, I was being mischievous in an attempt to show how, in my opinion, the claim that clubs 'deserve' to be in a certain position is misguided. Imagine if clubs still had to be elected to join the league then the likes of FGR would never make it and the Chesterfields, Wrexhams, Stockports of this world would not have been relegated from the league. I remember a few years ago a suggestion that clubs should selected for the Premier League on the basis of average gates because these big clubs deserved to be in the top division. Sunderland fans were very much in favour of this, Luton and Bournemouth not so much.

It's not all bad news tonight, but only if you count Agent Cotterill having Forest Green a goal up against Wrexham.

Get out of jail card card played by lucky Wrexham unfortunately
Still, a great point for FGR. Easy to forget Steve had the best ever start by a manager in Shrewsbury history, and he seems to be having a really positive impact at FGR now too

Wrexham have now lost their game in hand advantage, well done SC a solid point. Survival still a big job but who’d bet against him.
From the Wrexham board: “The team didn’t perform well last night but they fell for a Steve Cotterill master class“

Good on you Steve for taking two points off Wrexham, the game plan almost worked.
On to a big game away at Grimsby now.
