**** me.....the amount of money cotterill spent...we should of been in play-offs.....to finish 12th was pathetic.....bar winning those 5 games on the bounce....we would have been relegated, with our end of season form🤦🤦

I think SC was a horse for the course at the time. All fun and games now...but wait until we get relegated, Hurst walks away, and SC comes back. B&A would be in meltdown 🤣

Cotterill went for quality over quantity but came up short because the squad wasn't big enough. Moore/Taylor went for more numbers but came up short because of lack of quality. Both Taylor and Cotterill were unlucky with injuries The overspend was nothing to do with the playing budget, I could list some of the things it allegedly went on but we are definitely going over old ground so will leave it there.

‘Allegedly’ will be exhausted from all the heavy lifting it’s doing.

‘Allegedly’ will be exhausted from all the heavy lifting it’s doing. yes, especially when connected with the alleged huge amount of injuries last season His too tiny squad meant that even one injury knocked our prospects. A hard working experienced manager, but It was his gamble and it didn't pay off. Perhaps the DofF role will protect us from managers hell bent on spending the playing budget in that way?

I’d love it if things ‘didn’t pay off’ this season to such an extent…

I’d love it if things ‘didn’t pay off’ this season to such an extent… Does that mean you don't want Shrewsbury Town to do well? It certainly reads like that.

But in your words it didn’t pay off last season, 12 months ago we were comfortably mid table and able to basically write off the last ten games with no consequences. If that’s things not paying off then sign me up.

I do. I will always admire him for the way he fought Covid.
After that and what went on I don’t know but for that reason alone I will always have an interest.

I do. Dont mean Steve any harm but I'd still like to see the club relegated back to where they belong. Why don’t FGR belong in the Football League? That sounds like the ‘We should be beating the likes of Shrewsbury’ statement we hear from fans of Sunderland, Ipswich etc. FGR aren’t the first team to break into the FL thanks largely to a big money backer and won’t be the last. Moving up a league and sustaining that place at any level requires an injection of funding beyond what can be generated through traditional income streams. The alternative would be the closed shop that prevailed for decades where chairmen usually voted for their mates to stay in the league, often at the expense of very deserving non-league clubs. I would rather put up with the likes of FGR, Fleetwood and Wrexham than that. Ok, maybe not Wrexham. 😃

I’d rather they were in the league having worked their there than Milton Keynes having not.
