I didn’t realise it was FGR first win since October - away to high flying Barrow too. Very impressive Barrow Why are you happy for barrow ? Signed 9 players in January and then put 6 out of favour players on furlough aka the job retention scheme funny after I made this post, we had at least 4 new barrow fans, who also hated FGR, sometimes I love this site the way way peoples principles go out of the window depending on who posts what

Back on topic, that's a very good away win. Still got a hell of a job on his hands.

Relax, Cotts is at the Wheel, Well done to him, I always enjoy his pre and post match interviews just to see how much he bites, he hasn't yet as a FGR Manager. early days yet, a leopard dent change his spots Maybe, Maybe not - that could apply to Paul hurst if someone bigger comes sniffing once more.

Steve knows what he’s doing. It took him about the same time to decide he didn't want to work with a DofF here.

Steve knows what he’s doing. I heard before the DoF left, Steve made sure to get the Hotels.com log in details off him

The Cotterill Regime/ Revolution.
Always enjoy watching Cotterill's pre and post match interviews, - the gift that keeps on giving.

The Purges of the Cotterill Era.
I wonder if Aaron Wilbraham will resurface there.

New knockers for Mrs Cotts ( . )( . ) could you elaborate on this story for those who dont know and still think cotterill was a gentleman and did well for Shrewsbury town fc As always with Shrewsbury, the people who stay write the narrative. Hurst leaves, Brian writes the narrative. Brian & Cotterill leave, others write the narrative. A lot of it comes down to them allegedly spending loads of money and running up a deficit. That tells us two things. Either they've committed some sort of fraud, which I don't think anyone is accusing them of. Or the club have absolutely no handle on their finances or any type of monthly reporting. If there was monthly reporting of finances then any overspend would be found and responded to immediately. It just seems very odd. Isn't the finance bloke now our only director except Roland? The one who allowed a massive deficit to build up apparently with no knowledge of it? Makes no sense to me. The stories don't add up.

The stories don't add up. " despite regular financial meetings and warnings that spending is greatly exceeding income and budgets, it continues unabated." I'm led to believe fraud was going on , and the crazy spending the chairman couldn't get his head around was because it was being disguised as something legit and necessary despite it being outrageously excessive then again maybe we just sacked him as 12th wasn't very good 🥳

Are the club pursuing this alleged fraud down the legal routes? It surely can be proved that things were being disguised as something else?
If not, why not?

I managed a purchasing department with several times the turnover of STFC and every week I met with my divisional director to discuss proposed expenditure which he had to approve.
I would then confirm and sign contracts which had to be counter signed by my director.
Our T&Cs of business with our suppliers stated that a contract had to be counter signed by the director otherwise it wasn’t valid.
I had assumed that this was standard practice.

I thought this thread might’ve been used to track the impact that Steve’s making at Forest Green, rather than the same tedious claims and counter claims.

Yet somehow every week the local papers have a case of someone robbing their firm of thousands of pounds...
Anyway, hope Steve C does well at FGR. Whatever the truth of any overspend, Brian must have ok'ed it?

The thread has gone off on a tangent and is going over old ground, again. If it goes off topic then posts will be moved to the off topic thread. That was an agreed approach.

Whatever, it's time to stop this storm in a B cup.
Good luck Steve, FGR have a mountain to climb, fear it's going tits up for them. Can't afford any more boobs in their remaining fixtures.
