Points under Taylor - 30 (28 games) Points under Hurst so far - 5 (5 games) Things havnt improved with the new manager so far then. 😟 Obviously that doesn’t take into account that we 3 points from the last 7 league games under MT, and played some of the most insipid, lifeless football I’ve ever seen from us. Hurst has given us a far greater chance of staying up, but with every poor result I get more and more nervous. But but but he’s the Messiah ….

But in the relegation scrap you have to divide things up to try and make it look a little better. Carlisle look to have one foot in the trap door. Fleetwood need to gain 10 points to overtake us. Leave the other 2 places to keep away from. The next 3 games in 8 days in a few weeks is crucial. Away at Port Vale then home to both Exeter and Carlisle. Let's hope Hurst has got them knocked into shape by then. We desperately need at least 1 win before then as well though.

I see Burton scored 2 late goals at Orient today to turn a defeat into 3 points.
Winner came from Toto Nsiala. Didnt see that move when it happened.

Surprised how well Pierre has done. Amazing when you have a look just how little football he’s played last 2 years. He still looks incredibly unfit but he’s physically dominant in both boxes and wins his duels more often than not.

Two games in a row where we have the chances to put games away...
Massive improvement under Hurst to what we've seen the rest of the season.
See next week if the players have to ugly grind to get a win in what is the biggest game in the club's recent history of last 2/3 seasons next week. Huge.

He does seem incredibly slow in the first 20 minutes of games and then somehow gets more physical and better.

If hurst does not keep us up then he should be sacked. This got me thinking...what contract have we given PH?

Don't forget folks...we actually scored in the first half. But was offside apparently. Couldn't tell as I was in south stand. Hopefully will be in the highlights what happened.

Yes points wise we are not doing any better than Taylor...but it's considerably more entertaining football. If we go down, we are going down fighting.

Special meantion for Aiden O'Brien today. He got a 10min runout at the end. He played a freerole and was everywhere. I even saw him helping out Feeney on the right when he was getting swamped. Made a nuisance of himself, strong and pacey.
For me...He will always have a black spot against his name...but he was up for it today. I would like to see him start.

A changed man perhaps? I wonder if he should start in place of Bloxham.

He's just worked his ass off for 102 minutes of high intensity football!!

We have looked like a relegation team pretty well all season even when we were much higher up the table and its becoming squeaky bum time now. What amazed me today was that both Dunkley and Pierre looked much more adept and dangerous than our forwards when they got into Wigan's box. We are in a battle and we need our battling players to take precedence over some of those with perhaps more skill who are simply not affecting the game enough. Hurst may have come in too late to arrest the slump and keep us up and I suspect he has been brought in with League 2 in mind.

Hurst may have come in too late to arrest the slump and keep us up and I suspect he has been brought in with League 2 in mind. Come on now, keep the faith. We havnt been in the bottom 4 all season and I dont think we will drop into it either now or by the end of the season. It's still in our hands and hopefully will continue to be so. I was one who definately didnt want Hurst back here but I'd readily admit that he would provide the drive to keep us up.

Wish I could share your optimism but where are the goals to keep us up going to come from? Hurst has been left with one striker who is of an average League 1 standard. Of the rest, two have hardly set League 2 alight this season and the other looks completely out of touch. Every team we play seems to have better strikers on the bench than we have on the field (such as Humphreys today who would walk into our first team). Our recruitment upfront has been little short of disastrous and we are now paying the price for that.

I'm sure things will improve under Hurst, at least well enough to be above the relegation fight.

We have a run in one week of Vale away, Exeter home and Carlisle home from March 9. Will see if we deserve to stay up or deserve to go down.

That's a judgement. My reply was a comment about his fitness levels. I agree he has surpassed everyone's expectations. Personally I never expected him to be more than a bench warmer but he has been one of our stand out performers.

I guess we can only speculate about O’Brien as to why Cotterill and Taylor shipped him out on loan, I was also of the thinking that he must be a bad egg for not one but two managers to send him (temporarily) packing, but in his few substitute cameos he has made so far, he looks eager to make an impression, never wanting to shy away from the ball and has made a impact in my eyes, far more than Bowman and also Udoh is not enjoying much luck at the moment, I can see him getting a start soon.

The first time he was shipped out under Cotterill was because of a falling out with Cotterill at HT against Sunderland. From what I’ve seen in his cameos & his career we should be giving him a run out, especially with Shipley & Bayliss blowing hot and cold

The cynic in me says it’s because he wants a move somewhere in the summer.
He chose to come here and has let us down badly until miraculously his contract is nearly up.

I do remember Dunny asking SC in the post match interview v Sunderland as to why O’Brien was taken off at half time and SC replied abruptly that we won’t be seeing him again for a while before moving swiftly onto the next question, maybe AOB is a head strong character who is not afraid to offer his opinion but sometimes at the risk of not respecting or undermining the gaffer, basically it would have been down to a clash of personalities with the equally head strong SC that he left the first time, and Taylor probably just wouldn’t have known how to deal with him so thought sending him to Sutton United was the easy option rather than try to work with him as PH is now currently doing.
