Suddenly our defence has disintegrated, what's happened? Got away with it last week but we have no pace at the back and if the positioning isn't perfect then we are vulnerable.

Lots of huff and puff but we are struggling to create anything substantial.

At least all the other bottom sides are losing other than Fleetwood.
Reading drew earlier, but there's always hope they might be deducted further points.

Not really happening for Town today, and paying the price for some abysmal defending for their second goal. Seen plenty of worse performances than this mind.

That has to go down as a disappointment, not helped by an awful referee and our own defending.

No complaints! Two poor goals to concede, they created very little else and we also didn’t create enough chances. Still better than watching any game with MT in charge!

BS first booking for Bloxham and a foul he had to make for the 2nd so I don't blame him for the red. He tried subbing himself off earlier in the game.
A draw would have been a fair result in a game of very few chances.
Ref will get a lot of grief but other than being a bit whistle happy he got the majority of things correct.
Once again we looked devoid of ideas after going behind. unlike last week we looked tired in the 2nd half and I would have liked to have seen some changes earlier.
A game that on paper we should be looking to win at home yet we end up with nothing. Puts more pressure to get something away at Derby next weekend.

Back down to earth with a bang then. Very even game, I think we were worth at least a point. Do feel their lad made meal of that late challenge from Bloxham, looked to me he'd hardly touched him but he went down like he'd been shot.

I can’t even be bothered to comment. Ref & lino spoiled the game for me today.

Maybe brings a bit realism back. We’re in a battle and just need to focus on that 50 point mark, in which ever way we get there.

They had 2 kick offs today and promptly put the ball in the net straight from them
Oh well , new guy looks class, he needs to start
And a good goal
Apart from that we held the ball well , and the ref was awful

I missed the sending off but disagree, the ref was woeful. I’m not blaming him for the loss but he was getting so many decisions wrong it spoiled the game. I’ve been told it was the same ref who the Vale fan chased last week and based on the performance I’m not surprised. I go to football to watch the players. I don’t want the ref to be the centre of attention. Today it was difficult to watch anyone else. Anyway, onwards and upwards (hopefully).

The ref really was awful. On quite a different level.
Pedantic for them but gave us nothing.
Taylor is his usual big cheat self but that's the kind of short term January signing that keeps you up.
I don't know what the point of Mickey Moore is but to go a whole transfer window and doing nothing in our position is sleepwalking into trouble.

I never usually whinge about officiating, but it was absolutely terrible today. They got five or six things clearly wrong IMO. And they all went against us.
Tom’s first yellow was for complaining about one of the terrible obvious mistakes that the ref made.
There was no consistency either. Bayliss got cleaned out on the edge of his own box about 30 seconds after the ball had gone, and that wasn’t a foul. Their players were falling over and winning free kicks every time.
And the keeper was time wasting from the very beginning because the ref was allowing it. Every time he had the ball it was in his hands for 20+ seconds.

Both their goals were about exploiting Feeney playing out of position.
I don't blame him for that, he's doing a job there.

Well proof that Hurst can't sort everything! Poor second half performance. Can't remember any decent chances at all. Never recovered after the first minute going behind. Feels like Hurst has a lack of faith in the squad, as only a defensive midfielder who's probably had 1 training session with them comes on before about 80 mins.
Dunkley and Pierre didn't look good enough as a 2. Slow, and limited and ponderous in their distribution.
Bloxham showed bit more in second half in terms of taking his man on but his final ball lacking and undermined anything positive by being stupidly rash. Don't get clapping him off at all. Not good enough for starting role for me. Cambridge played the game well. Taylor up top does what he needs and their game plan to frustrate town and attack on break worked well.
More work ahead for town, but think plenty enough to stay up and that is what is needed for them this season.

Agree with above - the ref was pedantic and the officials really disrupted the game today as well as making some decisions that looked plane wrong. Bloxham's first yellow looked like it was for dissent when he was penalised for Andrew falling over - it was right in front of Block 14 and clearly not a foul. Andrew smiled broadly to the fans just as he did when he got a goal kick despite Bloxham's cross clearly going out off him.
Didn't think anybody was up to the standard of last week - except Udoh and maybe Pierre. We just didn't seem to have the legs this week. Dunkley had a bit of a mare and Feeney seemed unsettled by that nasty knock in his face at the start of the game.
Dreams of the playoffs lasted a whole week; now back to just looking to stay out of the bottom 4.

First 30 minutes town looked in control, pressing high up the third nullified Cambridge, at long last we had some mobility on the last third which gives the midfield some passing options, we mainly kept it on the ground and had much quicker passing of the ball, a well worked town goal, but unfortunately we did keep the lead for very long, second half town were much less effective and we're rather scrappy, the movement virtually stoped resulting in defenders passing the ball back, there was a big reduction in the pressing,[br
]A dreadfull goalto conceed the defence completely failed to track the two Cambridge players and an easy tap in. This result is frustrating and disappointing as we need to beat the teams below us. I thought bloxham was very effective on the wing and the new midfielder did well.

Other than the clear foul on Baylis I am struggling to think of many other times he made a big mistake. A few times I thought he was wrong and then I watched the replay and realised he was right. Both lino's on the other hand seemed to be making stuff up as they went along. No wonder Bloxham lost his head as he got done by wrong decisions 3 times before finally reacting.

We actually came today to play football, didn’t have enough in the final third and got his twice on the break.
Feeney isn’t a right back and was clearly targeted today by Cambridge. He was dreadful today though.
The new lad from Brighton looked very good, focused and had a great range of passing. In fact I’d actually say the central midfielders generally did well today, Winchester was picking passes everywhere, Bayliss looked freer trying to find options. Perry was non-existent.
The goal was incredibly well worked and lots to be positive about.
However, how an earth that linesman and referee managed to get up to league one is shocking in itself. Some of the most inconsistent and incorrect officiating we’ve seen. We should have had at least three more corners, there was no need to send Bloxham off at the end other than to make yourself the star of the show.
We’ll be fine.
