Concentrate on the league now.

Good game. So many chances missed by us though, just wasn't our day. Let's get behind our boys for the Stevenage match, at the end of the day the best team lost imo.

We're no doubt going to talk about the chances but thinking about it, did their keeper have to make a save today? No clinical cutting edge and we carry a holding mid who's gassed after 55 minutes. I think that's what determined the game today. We know our lads can put in a shift in and they did so again today but once that starts to falter it allowed Wrexham to start to play a bit more. In addition to that, not really sure why we brought on Idowu. Seems a strange time to throw him in considering his experience.

As much as I detest Mullen he is the type of striker we need, someone that can lead the line.
Second half we just weren't at the races, they wanted every second ball more than we did. Poor substitution decisions did for us.

The contrast in first touch control in that second half from the first is where it all starts to go wrong, we were back to sloppy first touch and hurried second then conceding possession time and time again.
I said we would tire and we did, yes we finished strong but none of those efforts were on target, if you don’t hit the target you don’t score.
In terms of recent games we were better but we cannot score against any reasonable defence.

Love a duck, I just wish we could take our chances.
Sadly, we just don't have the quality up front and when the going gets tough we go to pieces.

You created a couple of chances at the death but we managed the game quite well after the goal. The goal seemed to kill you and lift us. Overall we didn’t do enough to deserve the win but obviously we’ll take it.

If that's the best of league two I'd happily have a season there. They'll have to ship out a few to challenge in league one.

Not sure the substitutions helped much.
I'd certainly have kept Benning on as he was having a good game on the left. Likewise Mata for Bowman was probably also a mistake.
And why Winchester was left on the bench is a complete mystery to me.
We lost direction after the goal and the substitutions.

P*ss poor in game management from Taylor
Chasing a game and takes off a pacey Sobowale who could get at their very slow back line, takes Bowman off and makes a like for like sub at CB
At least chuck one of the centre backs forward in desperation if you’re going to hump it long.
Very little quality in the Salop team from what I watched
And they weren’t any better than us

Hard to explain that feeling so disappointed and down after losing to that lot.
First half - we were the better side, one shot deflected past the post, Sobawale missing a sitter
2nd half - what on earth happened? Was it the subs? Did Wrexham up their game? Massively disappointing performance especially once 1-0 down
Saying that - we had some massive chances 2nd half to score again. Perry x2 especially
A loss feels very harsh, but at the same time, our performance from 60 mins onwards stank the place out
Final word - WTF is Ryan Jarvis wishing that lot good luck for at the end? Shameful. Hope they get battered

Missed chances, poor in-game management by Taylor (or Moore over the phone if you believe the rumours) and a failure by the ref and the linesman to see Mullin’s horror tackle are the reasons we lost today.
We started well but even by around 20 minutes we were starting to let the game drift, and again once they scored we completely went to s**t until the injury time board went up. They looked like a team that are comfortable seeing out a win, we looked like a side that hasn’t a clue how to get back into a game.
Thoroughly depressing, that game was there for the taking with a replay at the very least, and we’ve been dumped out in our home. A bitter pill to swallow.

No doubt the game will be scrutinised to the absolute maximum but what I take from that is one simple fact. If you miss sitter after sitter then you ain’t going to win any football match

Disappointing as well is that we've let slip some much needed prize money and will be mere spectators come the 4th round draw on Monday evening...

Yes, MT has done nothing to improve his standing with his game management today.
And if MM has been influencing him in his decision making, as seems to have been rumoured on here, then that is surely completely unacceptable.

Not sure bringing on the new lad for his debut (watch build up to their goal) was right idea, but they were nothing special. Genuinely enjoyed our performance so congrats (commiserations) to the lads.

We missed 3 sitters. Played well enough first half, second half we just kept pushing but ran out of ideas fairly quickly.
But hey, at least we have dodged the replay at a s**thole.

That and George Evans who always seemed to create a bit of space.

Seen a few of these Moore rumours on here and it's utterly horrifying if true and needs to be clarified by supporters groups ASAP.

One thing is clear after today , Wrexham might have a far superior budget that us but they are close to finding their level , if they think they are heading to the championship anytime soon they might need to spend hell of a lot more money if they are serious about it

After this result it's worth bearing in mind that a bad day as a Shrewsbury supporter is far better than any number of good days as a Wrectum supporter.

Personally I hope Wrexham get an appallingly uninspiring draw, get dumped out in some huge miscarriage of justice and go on to bottle league two.
Should they make it up though, we really really need to put them in their place next year, there’s nothing I’d want more.
