hardly surprising, an ex pro failure drops down 6 leagues and scores a few goals bit like asking Man City to take a look at the shop at York ;-) Ben Godfrey started out at York! I think my point was misinterpreted, of course there are always stories where a players comes good and so could the guy at macclesfield, but the circumstances of macclesfield signing him kind of mean he's probably been tied down too unless a stupid fee is offered for him. ( I've scored a goal a few leagues lower than macclesfield )

I would love us to go break the bank on the 2 lads from Notts Co. Macauley Langstaff & Ruben Rodrigues.
Ive spent a lot of time watching the Conference this year for work and Langstaff is clinical and Rodrigues is a class act. Far to good for that league.
I also know they would cost a medium fortune for Notts Co to part with them mid promotion push which we probably wouldnt do but they are 2 players in areas i feel we need.

If Langstaff does go anywhere I reckon it will be to a championship club.
Fee wise?
£750k+ I would have thought.
Been a great acquisition for them from Gateshead.

No, please don't disrupt their automatic promotion push

We have O'Brien, Bowman, Saydee, Street, Pyke and Bloxham who can play striker. As much as we would all love a new striker, I can't see Roland shelling out until some of those are moved on

Can't see Notts County selling any asset now unless it's a huge fee. He's probably on wages better than town could offer already so will put that one in the highly unlikely category

intrigued centre back is a priority at this point. the back 3 are more or less nailed down and between them have only missed 5 league games so far. With Tayler Moore already on loan being a centre back, its more or less the position we need the least! If i was Watford I would be looking for assurances he is going to be playing. He's started a few games already so he'd be expecting game time wherever he went

Possibly a replacement for Penno....I believe we have had multiple offers.

More than likely. All the players I admire leave sooner than I would wish.

Keep in mind we're talking about a barrynic rumour, here. I'm inclined to think it's more likely we'll keep him after Barry tipping him to leave.

Mattie Pollock 21 is a good young player. Son of Jamie Pøllock he had made a promising start at Grimsby before Watford stepped in to sign him, he is under contract until 2026. His elder brother Ben moved from Hereford to Boston in the close season. Perhaps a loan possibility which would mean returning or signing one of our current six. If Pennington was sold signing Pollock would take a big chunk of any fee.

Danny Crowley, who was excellent at Cheltenham, has been signed by Morecambe on a short-term deal after returning from Holland. Would have been an excellent signing as an attacking midfielder but we don't seem to do those.

I remember about 18 months ago when we played Cheltenham away and he completely ran the game the 90 mins, nobody could get near him

That’s just a typically cagey mid-January manager’s comment. I would be very surprised if there was no more business, especially from about 8 pm on deadline day. He is also doing the ‘not alerting interest to other clubs/agents’ thing. Having said that, IF everyone apart from Udoh and Nurse is available, then we have a good enough squad to stay in mid-table. Keep the bench places for youngsters and even give them some minutes on the pitch when situations allow.

I’m fairly confident we’re waiting on Bowman to leave so we can replace.
Also my gut feeling is Penno will be off, we’ll want something for him whilst we can.
I do think he’s happy/settled here but money talks and he also deserves another shot at championship IMO

I do think he’s happy/settled here but money talks and he also deserves another shot at championship IMO lets be realistic, he's got 3 options, he gets sold now, nice investment, gets him a decent pay rise somewhere, he sits it out until the end of the season and if his form holds up he'll get himself an ever better pay deal, or he signs a new contract to us I know which one Roland will want I know which one most fans will want cotterill probably wants his cake and eat it , selling might relief the sticky mess he's gotten into

A typical sit on the fence article if ever there was one, fills up a few column spaces, if nothing else.
