Setup for failure there if he doesn't land what he's after.

Getting Pennington a new contract should be priority this window. I'd also add Udoh and Nurse but not sure where they are with their injuries.
Cannot see there being any permanent signings unless Roland gets a rush of blood and thinks we can make the play-offs.
With the loanees I think there will be some movement. I hope that we keep Winchester, Saydee and Moore. I like Street and Dacosta but I can see why Cotts may want to see if he can bring in something different.

I'm wondering if we're going to revisit the option of Stockton from Morecambe? He's hardly been tearing up trees and his price will have fallen. Perhaps a trade with Bowman?

It's a tough window, but it's only as tough as the chairman makes it.
DaCosta is a walking injury, Street isn't up to standard, be nice to find somewhere for Pyle to go but highly unlikely.
Hopefully we can tie down our better players to new deals and add one or two, we're on target for a progressive mid-table finish that we can hopefully build on next season when Udoh & Nurse return complimented by a couple of new faces.
Say what you want about Cotts but he can spot a player.

Have a feeling we'll lose Bayliss. Someone posted that rumour on here some time back that one or two were keeping tabs on him and I didn't think that wide of the mark. And he's doing OK.

A good window and we could still have an outside chance of a place in the playoffs.

With better players around him maybe Stockton could go on another scoring run and be worth a revisit but a risk especially at the price Morecambe were asking. Bowman out of favour and may be offloaded. Shame as liked him.

i think we should offer pyle a new contract I think we might. After a difficult start the lad seems confident and when he get a cameo appearance we seem to play more more positively. He’s on one if the lower wages reported as low as £2k a week so would be a fairly cheap option but still improving….. Seems SC likes him and and he’s only a couple of goals away from a reborn player.

I’m struggling to see why Street is selected above Bowman. Bowman scored 10 in 42 last season which as 2nd striker isn’t terrible. Is he carrying an injury? Unfortunately he does need to miss about 4 chances before he finds the net. Street has 13 appearances with no goals nor assists. Arguably he’s probably fitter and more mobile than Bowman but on those stats I’d argue all of the other strikers should start before Street.

Just responding to a couple of points on this thread;
I wouldn’t like to see us offer Pyke anything at the end of the season, unless he has a simply fantastic second half of the season, I can’t see it happening.
A Bowman swap for Stockton swap doesn’t sound too far fetched when you consider his family members live in Carlisle and Stockton wants to get away from Morecambe.

Why would Pyle get offered anything, he'd struggle to get in Telford's side?

At the risk of it turning into another Pyke debate, I can't see him getting offered a new contract at the end of the season. His versatility means he is offering something at the moment but when players are fit then he isn't going to be a long term option at right wing back and I have no doubt that Cotterill (or any manager) would want better quality than him up front.
That being said, I'd prefer him (or Bowman) up front to Street who looks completely out of his depth at this level.

i was under the impression that SC was happy with the size of his squad or has it sunk in that it makes us vunerable of we get key players out with long term inujurys.

He managed a goal the other week, his first of the season, I think? As many as Pyke then! I honestly think he’ll get offered a year. Not every player in a squad is always going to be amazing/or expect to play every game. I can see him being happy with a year and being a squad player…

so to re cap
we send back da costa and street ( both on season long contracts )
we buy winchester for a snip off Sunderland and pay him championship wages to fit in with the rest of the squad
we sign Stockton who has one goal this season and he then goes on a scoring run and pushes us towards the play offs
and of course most importantly we bring in Winston Wolfe to dispose of Pyke. , sorry I mean PYLE
its all so ****ing simple then

Given that SC has gone public with this, we can hardly have a quiet January transfer without a lot of egg on face.

I can actually see us weaken in January, well that depends on our run in the league until then, I posted a poll the other day and we have some decent games until the end of jan, most are winnable and if we did win them it would give Roland one hell of an headache, one of the Paul hurst type, do we push the boat out and go for it, well I dont think we can, I guess our budget is already maxed and we dont have much scope to change it, I think if we have a half decent December and start to January our board will be more inclined to cash in on one or 2 rather that expand things, thats the way we rock
