Nice to hear from Brian I thought he might have mentioned how the half season ticket sales are going too. Overall, no surprises really.

Cant say I'm remotely surprised. Town don't look like they are going down, so need for investment is much more limited. You've got some players still on quite decent contracts and some that they hope will re-sign. The odd loan here and there, maybe one permanent a la Flanagan if it works out. Otherwise continue as it was

I suppose signing a ref up is strictly against the rules?

I see Conor Wickham as been released by FGR, even though he was there top scorer with 9 goals in 20 games! Does anyone have any more details on this as I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing him turning up here! We do have a bit of a reputation for resurrecting a players career and he’s only 29!

Yes please - although I’m sure he’s well out of reach financially and will probably have much more attractive options

May poach a player or two that is coming to the end of their contract in the summer and want a longer term deal (As mentioned the Flannagan signing an example of this).
I'm slightly more concerned at how Town deal with their contracted players, Pennington and Leahy contracts are up in the summer. I think so is Nurse but his injury may be a factor there.
Udoh, Bowman and Marosi on an optional 3rd Year?

Money, talk of freeing up some by moving on players. Are we also hanging on in case of the "ifs"? If we got through this afternoon, if we drew a lucrative next round match, we might have a little bit more to spend.

No money, no FA Cup bonus (I suppose the losers do get something). No big transfers now, new signings only if some go. Buggered! But probably safe.

It just continues as before. The only departures will be players not wanted - can't see any players sold. Don't think this window was ever going to be a big one in terms of transfers

We're Literally at a standstill as a club.Absalutley no idea where we're heading. Beware Morecambe. Started on a run. 3rd win in a row today. That said, Cambridge have lost 3 in a row since playing us, which says it all about how poor they are. And Cheltenham have lost 4 of their last 5 games too. No prizes for guessing the one they won!

James Berry a striker at Macclesfield would be worth a look.

I would currently have any of those names in our team right now. The gems are there to find just sometimes got to take a punt and develop them. Different players sometimes develop better playing men's football.

I think you’ve made your point, Pilch! Tbh most names thrown out on this type of thread aren’t worth the space they are typed in, but it would be boring if the occasional left field suggestion didn’t crop up. Chameleon has alerted me to a player I’d never heard of and I shall now follow his career with interest. Hopefully he won’t join someone else with more money in L1 and score a hat trick against us!

This is the problem with Shrewsbury there are no reserves games, all our youth players don't develop as there is no reserve football. Going out on loan, a change of manager can develop a player. There is no bridge between under 18 football and the seniors. If the young player won't get in the first team there is no point as he will rot in our team as it is. I have no idea who's bigging him up as I have no background on him bar a name, but don't rubbish a non-league player as there are gems to be had is my point. I have no idea of cost etc but its not worth anymore than 50k punt.
