Wow, watching an England football team go up last, get winners medals and lift the trophy is really something!

I recon they would beat our Shrews side every day of the week...plenty of their goals throughout the tournament have been world class. Crazy slick passing. Top goalkeeper too.
I heard the commentators say the attendance broke the record for both mens and womens Euro finals.

the comentators are already talking England up for the World cup! i wish they would not do this because it just puts pressuer on them and high expecations.
iv always liked womens football and they deserve a lot of credit for what they have done. but Germany lost there top scorer just before the game and germany were the better team for a lot of the second half but when we scored the second goal we had a masterclass in running the clock down. we also the record of germany for scoring the most goals in a European tornament. this will be huge for the womens game, the next challenge for England is consitency at the top level and let us hope this can be somthing we can build on.

Doesn’t take away a great achievement in the womens game, the Lionesses have been fantastic in the tournament.

Fabulous skill and very entertaining game Huge congratulations !they would certainly beat Shrews women, if thats what you mean but lack the power to beat even a semi professional mens side Great attendance and a game changer for women sport

Credit to Sarina Wiegman. Got us playing how we all want England teams to play. Attacking yet can defend and be calm in games. A real togetherness attitude. Well done Lionesses

Honestly, people comparing it to the men’s game all the time really puts me off it.
Just enjoy it for what it is and stop debating about whether they’re more passionate than the men, or what standard they’d be at if they played against a men’s side. It’s so boring.
Well done England. Excellent performances throughout, and really well deserved.

The England women's team seem to play without the crippling fear that afflicts the men's team. Most refreshing!

The constant debate about which men's teams they might beat is frustrating.
One thing I would say though is that Walsh would walk into our midfield.

I for one am fascinated to know what level the women are compared to men ps Moore walks into our midfield, and carries on walking all game ;-)

I don't think it matters in the slightest, are there any guys who wouldn't be cheering on the ladies if such a game was arranged ?

I have no doubt the women's game is about to blow up and become more popular. It is being pushed at us to make it become popular.
It would not a bad business plan to invest in the Salop Womens team as there could be a lot of money pumped into it over the next few years.

They must have an awful lot of ironing and dusting to catch up with at home now... And in another throwback 80 years - always good to beat the Germans!
Well done the girls! There are things the men can learn from the way you have conducted yourselves and gone about this.

The BBC still bleating on about the team not being diverse enough this morning but at least they and the likes of Keir Starmer can finally identify what a woman looks like. All it is winning a major competition!
If the alternative was to pick the team who's skin colour reflected the Dulux colour chart and then we get knocked out in the group stage, is that a more desirable outcome for these imbeciles?

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction - I expect Hockey and Netball to go into steep decline.
There is going to be money in women's football - Shrewsbury Town could jump onto this bandwagon before the big money clubs get a stranglehold on it - our women's team should be playing regularly at NWM and capitalising on a diverse venture that doesn't currently need a Russian Oligarch to finance it.

There's a reason no players of colour were in the starting line up, clearly none are good enough. Same in the reverse, I wouldn't care if the entire team were of colour providing they're the best XI.

If Germany had won it would have given the wrong impression to young girls coming into the game as to what the womens game is all about. They are very aggressive and do not play the game with a smile on their faces as England do. I do wonder if they would have smiled if they won it. My only concern was the standard of the referee who could have very easily ruined the game. We have a decent womens team at salop and hopefully fans will get behind them and we can see some games at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Well done England. Excellent performances throughout, and really well deserved. Agree with that. I wouldn't necessarily see it as men v women though, whenever other sports such as rugby/cricket do well then there is always a comparison with the mens football team, normally a load of cliched nonsense about them being more passionate, aren't arrogant, blah blah blah. I can only put it down to the (ridiculous) finances in mens football but thats not the players fault, no man or woman involved in any sport is going to turn down the money. But anyway, it was a great result last night and hopefully it is a genuine catalyst for change in the womens game in this country.
