An alternative is too get a coach in who knows what he is doing. After the last couple of tournaments we're experimenting in what is essentially the Papa John's Trophy and he suddenly doesn't know what he's doing? He never has.

two draws one defeat three games one goal. to say England were poor throughout really does not do justice to how bad they were, back to the drawing board major improvments needed.

having read it today , yes it was a bad choice of words , it was kind of carrying on from my comment v germany where i think a lot of people make an opinion of the game based just on the result and nothing else 1-1 in germany is always a decent result , we'll done england 0-0 at home , how boring , i said many do this for every town game not always the case , i thought england were lucky at germany , and last nights game was end to end stuff and quite a young promising side we put out too , there was nothing boring about it Were you sampling your whisky collection last night? You're right about just looking at the result, this could have been just two good teams cancelling each other out. That might be why amatuer football experts, like me, get more fun out of two rubbish teams, one being the losing Wrexham, scrapping out a 5-4 result. no, I was busy watching ALL of the England game ;-)

If we're looking at the Italy game, Mount & Sterling should've scored, especially Sterling it was a horrendous miss. I'm happy to point the finger at a manager if there's a continued downtrend but I think we're ok and will be ok come the world cup.

The first half was better wasn't it? I was out walking, I suppose you get enough of that in the week

I think the Nations League is a great concept badly let down by the over-tired/half-arsed (delete according to sympathies) efforts of the competitors. Worth remembering the Nations League replaces those meaningless international friendlies, of which I suspect few of us can recall a single one.
Perhaps it needs a rethink but, in principle if not this month in practice, I'd rather watch England playing a competitive match against Italy or Germany than a tedious World Cup/Euros qualifier against San Marino or Estonia.

I think England have dipped in form in the last few matches but certainly would not give up on Southgate who overall has done a really good job as England manager. This idea that we have a plethora of attacking geniuses in waiting to thrash strong teams if Southgate just takes off the handbrake is more wishful thinking than fact. Its a bit like those years before Southgate when a lot of people thought we were favourites for major tournaments when in fact we struggled to win a game in the knockout stages. There have been a few positives - Ramsdale looks ready to push Pickford as keeper and Tomori (despite a few passes going astray) looked to be a young central defender with a bit more pace than we currently have in that position. Hopefully we will see a better display and a few goals on Tuesday.

3 games, 1 goal and that was from a pen, it reminds me of us. There's lots of sideways passing between midfield and defence but little creativity, lack of movement and once in the final third we didn't know what to do so inevitably goes backwards and the crab football starts again. To me it seems criminal that we have this style of play, however I saw a view yesterday that actually the England team is over performing, we have very few world class players and whilst the style of football isn't great, it gets results. And if we were to go with the attacking football that some of us want, we would get found out Absolutely. Let in 1 goal at this level is very often game over, there is no coming back from it. Much better concentrating on keeping a clean sheet, cant get beat then (only on pens, as it proved against Italy last summer)

Great to see the majority of England fans finally coming to terms with the fact that Southgate is holding us back.
It's what happens when you employ an FA puppet rather than a football manager.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61788094The term 'Wives and girlfriends' is the latest victim of not being inclusive enough for Captain Woke and his agenda. If only the national team had a manager that occasionally worried about football. We might have won something by now.

Hard for me to comment because I'm not English...but I'm going to anyway!
I find there are so few characters in the squad. The captain is boring. The team needs that bit of flair, that bit of excitment. Grealish and Mount have potential.

Play 4-3-3 and pick one of Phillips OR Rice and we'll start winning football matches. England started with Phillips in a 4-3-3 again

0-3, taking the p**s. This team still should’ve beaten Hungary. How has it gone so wrong since last summer, Southgate is having trouble getting the best out of the players.

Never a sending off but this has been awful. I'll be generous and put it down to some poorly timed games at the end of a very long season.
And look on the bright side, if the world cup had been played now like it should have been, we'd probably already be out!
