Just sat through an England team playing a cross between Walking Football and Chess - it will never catch on. Sideways and backward passing often wayward and when it did find a team mate he had no idea how to control it with one touch. Italy were better at those things but were still only one notch up from dire. I was led to believe that football was meant to be entertaimment, but I must be mistaken.

Good game that, thoroughly enjoyed it. I think only those who have played or understand soccer to a given level or above would have appreciated it in fairness.

I also thought it was a decent game, I've seen a lot worse games that England have won, a lot of commitment tonight from both sides

Surely not the England match. Channel 4 got sold a pup, as did Wolves and Midlands fans. Why all the empty seats, are they working on the stands still? Maybe it should have been at Villa Park, or Wolves arch enemies, WBA?

I got slated midweek for suggesting someone was wrong in thinking England played well and deserved a draw v germany tonight , I get taken to task for suggesting I thought it was a reasonable game maybe if I was to create a poll first and first out what my opinion on the game should be everyone would be happy

We didn't lose anyway.
Somehow off season football just seems a bit - off.

3 games, 1 goal and that was from a pen, it reminds me of us. There's lots of sideways passing between midfield and defence but little creativity, lack of movement and once in the final third we didn't know what to do so inevitably goes backwards and the crab football starts again.
To me it seems criminal that we have this style of play, however I saw a view yesterday that actually the England team is over performing, we have very few world class players and whilst the style of football isn't great, it gets results. And if we were to go with the attacking football that some of us want, we would get found out

England were punished for the stadium breach (and other issues) at the Euro ‘20 final v Italy. As a punishment, they received a 2 game stadium ban for fans, meaning they have to play behind closed doors. 1 of the games was suspended for two years, and a loophole in UEFA’s policy means that Under 14s can still attend - free of charge (hence why there were 40000 at the Hungary v England match last week, which also should have been behind closed doors!) England play Hungary in the reverse fixture at Molinuex on Tuesday, which is a sellout.

If anyone thinks that either sets of players would rather play in this game rather than be on a beach is mistaken. Long season just gone & then we wonder why these games are boring.

Thanks, thought I must have been going crazy these last few weeks with how seriously people seem to be taking these poorly timed glorified friendlies.

What levels that Swanny, under 7s Sunday League? BTW interesting use of the word soccer …….”To Americans, it's soccer. To most of the rest of the world, (including England, the birthplace of the modern sport,) it's football”.

Just an observation having read it today , yes it was a bad choice of words , it was kind of carrying on from my comment v germany where i think a lot of people make an opinion of the game based just on the result and nothing else 1-1 in germany is always a decent result , we'll done england 0-0 at home , how boring , i said many do this for every town game not always the case , i thought england were lucky at germany , and last nights game was end to end stuff and quite a young promising side we put out too , there was nothing boring about it

Thought 1st half wasn’t bad but the 2nd half was boring but with no fans is bound to have an effect. Hungary game crucial on Tuesday now, these are glorified friendlies but I don’t want us to get relegated the the Nations League B.
I see Wales nicked a draw against Belgium.

Wasn't our strongest XI, I'll add that as a point in addition. Our strongest XI with one of the two will improve us drastically.

I do think we should emulate City & Liverpool's 4-3-3 though, we've been blessed with attacking talent.

You're right about just looking at the result, this could have been just two good teams cancelling each other out. That might be why amatuer football experts, like me, get more fun out of two rubbish teams, one being the losing Wrexham, scrapping out a 5-4 result.

As Horse says, full house on Tuesday, wonder if a full stadium will add a bit more bite to the occasion?
