It's not like you to hijack a thread or bring back previous posts is it!!! Which incidentally is not bullying, harassing, being personal etc, it is just my point of view. If you can't take it don't give it. the only person on here who hijacked this thread was your dear old self with your sad personal grudge , move on anyway back to topic , i just filled up with petrol at the mount £189.9 , almost £100 in the tank Why would you do that when it’s much cheaper at Sainsbury’s

The Mount was one of the cheapest during the pandemic, now only Thieves Lane is more expensive.
What's happened?

I used to drive 100 miles a day commuting between North Wales and Manchester. This took a fair chunk out of my salary ten years ago. I dread to think how much it would cost me nowadays. Thank goodness I've retired. Roll on the 10% increase for inflation to my state and private pension for next April! We await the September CPI with interest. I wonder if HM Treasury will have the final say IF the % figure is indeed still in double figures come then?

I think Sunak promised a return of the triple lock for pensioners, but, hey, what's a promise.
Benefits might be a different story.

Approaching £11 PER GALLON....that is frightening.
To think when I had my first car back in 1977 it was about 70 pence per gallon.

Have a vague memory that it may have been 7s 6d a gallon filling up with my dad driving. I won't bother translating that into new pence, we might all be going back to pounds, shillings and pence under Boris...

I remember a mate I worked with in the late 80s having to keep the receipt when he filled his 125 bike with £3 so that he could get a Texaco star the next time he filled up
Back on track the Motor Fuel Group (the UKs largest independent forecourt operator) is spending £400m on getting fast charging points at their outlets. Now unless I'm mistaken these chargers will eventually pay for themselves and therefore they are an investment, so why are they claiming that they have to charge extra for fuel to fund this?

"We will be intrigued to know what excuses the fuel trade come up with this time".
Sort of says it all really. The government can reduce duty by as much as it wants but if they do it like the recent 5p/ltr the retailers will just laugh it up.
Who says Dick Turpins relations arent still around.🤬

I've seen next weekend being mentioned on Facebook. A Monday protest makes more sense to be honest though, as a weekend isn't going to cause quite as much in the way of disruption.

Unless he's just doing more miles, in the last 2 weeks his "weekly spend on fuel for one of the four vehicles the company runs has more than doubled from £100 for a full tank to £220" hasn't gone up that much.

That way everyone, including those not in a position to own a car, benefits and it keeps the money out of the profiteers hands.

Will this be met with the same anger as Insulate Britain’s motorway antics?

Green up the bus stations, green up the busses. How long has oil got to continue to dominate our economy?

Will this be met with the same anger as Insulate Britain’s motorway antics? If it stops people going about their lawful business, getting to hospital appointments, etc., then yes. Mainly because it won’t make a blind but of difference to government policy or oil company profiteering.

What a surprise that it's a Shell station that's become the first? It's as if they have all been trying to outdo each other for the (dis)honour.

im no expert but unless the big produers increase production somthing saudie arabia has refused to and why do the they need to as there profits have doubled by staying at current levels also they are unhappy with Biden. prices will be volatile untill the russian invassion of ukraine stops . but at $110 a barrel it has droped $10 so why are prices still going up ? the petrol companies have been very quick to keep putting them up. www.thestreet.com/markets/gas-price-relief-in-sight-as-crude-oil-tumbles-on-recession-fears"WTI crude futures for July delivery, the most tightly-linked commodity to U.S gasoline prices, were marked $7.53 lower on the session at $110.06 per barrel."

we are so far behind other countrys in this but a small step in the right direction. i apreciate Seoul is a city but without the strategic planning the infastructuer and funding , we will continue at a snails pace, Seoul ran its pilot in 2018 by 2024 all new buses will be electric as diesel is phased out. This was in 2019 www.sustainable-bus.com/electric-bus/seoul-to-have-143-ebuses-in-operation-by-the-end-of-the-year/"Seoul will see the city electric bus fleet to grow to 143 vehicles. According to a statement from the government (and reported on local press), from November further 114 electric buses will start operation in the capital city of South Korea." (this will be bring the total to 392 electric buse) there Hyndai mid range buses have a range of 151 miles m.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20200719000198The city government said electric buses are energy cost-saving, as one such bus can save about 12.6 million won ($10,500) per year The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on Sunday that it will sharply increase the number of electricity-powered buses as part of the country's green mobility campaign. The municipality of Seoul plans to add 166 electric buses in the second half, raising the annual purchase of such vehicles to 257 in 2020. www.enelx.com/kr/en/electric-busesEnel X is accelerating the transition to electric mobility, which has a key role to play in making Seoul and our cities more sustainable. The city of Seoul has banned the registration of new combustion engine buses from 2024. This reform has placed Korea on a clear path to the electrification of the majority of its 30,000+ city buses. With our experience and significant investment in electric mobility, we are preparing green transport solutions to public transport operators, with electric bus (e-Bus) services in Korea.

Why would you do that when it’s much cheaper at Sainsbury’s 196.9 at the mount today, I just get on with my life and squeeze the handle, some people are still living in march 2020 Would it be fair to say that most times you squeeze the handle the firms paying?

196.9 at the mount today, I just get on with my life and squeeze the handle, some people are still living in march 2020 Would it be fair to say that most times you squeeze the handle the firms paying? but I am saving them money, at the mount I'm in and out like an F1 pitstop, if I go to Salisbury's I'll end up booking overtime as the queue to save a few quid is like smithys bar since STFC took over
