Good for Udoh and Edwards. But Mark Elliott makes a valid point about the lateness of the substitutions. Baffling.

Waiting until the 90th minute before having ago is never a good tactic

Is that not a head butt on Penningtons foot by the keeper?

Phew, not much to say really, other than that's probably as badly as we've played ALL SEASON, including under Ricketts. No passing, no movement, no second balls, no idea. Turgid, sluggish, unimaginative and generally downright awful. A late goal and a bit of a flurry did nothing to alter the balance of that game, which was pretty much one way.
Some truly appalling performances today, honourable mentions to Vela and EEL, both of whom were abysmal but little better anywhere else. Whalley off the pace, Main totally anonymous and after almost making it to half time level the late first half goal led to us being somehow even worse in the second half.
To say that was an all round off day would be an understatement. Credit to Rovers who moved it well, pressed us quickly forcing too many mistakes and who generally schooled us all without really breaking sweat.
If anyone is still under the misunderstanding that this season is about anything other than survival then give your head a wobble.
The challenge now, the big test, is how we bounce back from this. Three games against teams below us in the table still, so the chance to put any relegation worries to bed is still in our hands.

Udoh and Pyke changed the game for us and we started to play a bit. Very poor day at the office but it was bound to happen at some point. We move on to the next.

Oh well. Poor performance and didn't turn up at all until last few mins.
Let's hope they bounce back on Tuesday. After a settled team for quite a while, be interesting to see if any changes made

The high point was the Rovers anxiety in the last minute

Well we made a good go at it in the end. Like at the 86th minute mark. We should have change things way earlier than we did. There was absolutely no improvement at the start of the second half, we were being pushed back, that second goal from the home side was just waiting to happen. Think they judged it wrong today.

Well b**ger me we deserved f00k all out of that, but we nearly nicked a point.
Hopefully, we won't see that type of performance again. What was more worrying is that we didn't change the system, but then again I suppose we don't have the players.
Pleased for Udoh.
The rest of them can do one.

We really struggled to change the game. Half time for me was when we needed to mix it up, get us out of our slumber.
Fair play, that was a great last minute save from their keeper.

Looked like Barton wanted to have a go at Norburn after the whistle.

We didn’t deserve anything from the game even with the final flurry.
Let’s put this game behind us and move on.

At least Rochdale, Northampton, AFC Wimbledon and Wigan all lost.

Our midfield were getting closed down and then gave the ball away too easily.

Not sure I’ve witnessed such incompetence since the Wimbledon away match. (Which was a desperately poor performance in spite of the fact we won, in contradiction of the forum captain’s mantra of “the fans only care about the result”)

Would have been daylight robbery to rival Wimbledon or Burton had we escaped with anything other than a defeat there. Think (begrudgingly) you have to give some credit to Barton who got his tactics spot on by pressing us whenever Vela and Norburn got on the ball, which forced us into some woeful long-ball fare. That the changes didn't come earlier was bizarre.
Fortunately we've put ourselves in the situation where that shouldn't matter.

Not quite sure where that performance came from - everyone seemed well of the pace and the score line could have been a lot worse. It looks as if some of our lads were beginning to believe their own publicity and we never got hold of the game in midfield at any point. Let's hope that was a one-off but I wonder whether there will be any changes to the starting line-up next game.

Our midfield were getting closed down and then gave the ball away too easily. You wouldn’t have strolled off in the last minute in your professional days would you? Expect you were puce with fury at the events that unfolded in injury time.

Painful listening to some of the callers on Radio Shropshire. Wanting changes to formation etc, it’s one result, this system has been working for us, we probably need to freshen things up by changing 2-3 players every now and then because of the amount of games we’re playing, but to say we need to change the entire set up because of one result is fickle knee jerk reactions.

In my opinion I think we should change the entire set up after that result.
