sears should have started, ok they rolled the dice but got it wrong and yes, he should have come on at half time, i said exactly that at half time sears needs to come on, pennington is worse than gregor rioch and main is having a shocker, give pyke or udoh a run if they act now whilst we are still in this game we might have a chance, could have been 2-0 after 2 minutes and maybe 3-0 now

Long term Pennington is the better player. Maybe they wanted to give him some match time and hoped he wouldn't get too exposed. Rodman did most of the damage down the other flank

Rodman did most of the damage down the other flank wasnt the first goal a chap who tapped in a cross unmarked on the right post ? and they carved him up seconds into the game and again 2 minutes later ?, both should have been goals joey barton probably thought it was xmas when he saw the teamsheet and saw our rightback has probably never played there before and has played about 8 games in 8 years long term ? pennington is here for just over 2 more months ? and to think we went into meltdown on here when our top scorer pierre was chucked on as a hail mary in the 89th minute one game, at 1-0 down good job we didnt start him up front with forwards on the bench

It could have been worse - imagine if Steve had turned up today, charge. and the days s**t show was run by him!
But why did the wheels come off? Did Steve's internet connection drop out or something? Or was it just new manager bounce?

Bummer result. Bad day at the office. They say you learn more in defeat, and the lads haven't seen many defeats under SCs reign so this may be a wee timely blessing. Roll on Tuesday.

"We are disappointed with the result but we don't feel let down by the lads". Wilbraham. I think that's fair enough. I thought there was still plenty of effort, they put a shift in. Just that we couldn't get anything going, lacked an awful lot of the quality that we have seen over the last few weeks.

What has been apparent in the last two games is that the opposition have been targeting the inexperience of Ogbeta. Hopefully he will be a quick learner.

There are plenty of other posters to engage with with far more sensible comments, at least you can have decent conversations with them as the club is thankfully moving in the right direction most of the time. He is basically just attention seeking. Often his comments on playing matters are as deluded as our resident Wrexham idiot is most of the time.

We know how Barton used to set up Fleetwood against us and the consequent lack of success we had against them.
His team playing with a high intensity and targeting weaknesses at full back should not have come as a surprise.

Assuming that's an accurate transcription that's a very interesting choice of words from Dave; "the Manager" not "the new Manager". Speaks volumes. As for the game, it was really disappointing, total waste of a tenner to be honest. 3 defeats in 15 versus 8 wins tells its own story though. Out of the 15, that's the first really shocking performance and even then we nearly ended up nicking an undeserved point. Games have been coming thick and fast recently, 2 a week. Probably a bit of post viral fatigue coming in for a few players, Steve Cotterell still recovering at home, new manager bounce for the oppo (and one who's been a consistent thorn in our side). No big deal basically. It happens, no point getting worked up over it. Maybe time to ring the changes and bring some fresh legs in for Wimbledon at home?

there once was a bearded man who was making plans for an attack (lets call him the king of spain) Are you Ricketts in disguise? No. If he were Ricketts in disguise he would have said ANY game, not ANY AWAY game. His team playing with a high intensity and targeting weaknesses at full back should not have come as a surprise. I had totally forgotten that Barton had gone to Rovers. When I logged on and clicked on the match stream the first thing I saw was Barton walking over to the dugout. I did mutter 'Oh '.

A lot of people are getting incredibly worked up about this performance. We lost by the odd goal to a team that are actually in a similar part of the league to ourselves. Just because we have had automatic promotion form over the last three months does not mean that we can expect to wallop every team below us. Even today, there are still only seven teams between us and League Two, which in November was where we were heading at pace.
Post-Ricketts, everything we have achieved has been playing catch-up to our familiar 15th-ish place. Thankfully, we have got into that position much, much faster than anyone dared to imagine when Cotterill over. But where has the sense of perspective gone?
Look, I'm still annoyed that Brizzle Rovers, one of the least glamorous clubs in professional football, made us look like chumps at Wembley in 2007. They've now appointed one of the most odious men in professional football as their manager. But have these matters really crept into people's perception of our own team, and the result we 'should' have got today? This seems the only explanation for much of what is being said.

I couldn't agree more that they prove nothing, delighted you've seen the light. As for meltdown, you seem to be the only one suggesting/hoping for such a thing. People were frustrated in here after a poor performance, but have recognised it was a rare off-day that doesn't detract from a superb start so far.

Going forward if we win every single game for the next few years it is a fact that we will at some point win the European Champions League. We have to be realistic and accept that even under a fully fit SC that is not likely to happen. We need to set our sights lower like challenging Wrexham for the premiership title which means losing the odd game or two along the way.

I'm genuinely lost with Pilch' arguments now when it comes to us losing/putting a bad performance. Is it the fans are not criticising the team enough (in the same way we did under Ricketts) or is it that fans are fickle and in meltdown after one bad result?

I think it shows how far we've come in a short space of time that there is some disappointment and frustration about yesterday's result.
Our more recent history is littered with that type of away performance, it became almost expected.
