Great to hear the gaffer is getting better each day but small steps obviously. The players are clearly playing for him and Alby & Dave.
Clearly Saturday is a banana skin with the new manager effect at Brizzle but got to be confident to get something down there run we are on.

Another 0-1 masterclass will do nicely.

we now face Bristol rovers, wimbeldon, fleetwood, and rochdale. these are games we must win to keeo drawing away from teams below us, it wont be easy and we may have to change tactics to unpick there defence, equally we have to work hard, cut out silly mistakes and work at ball retention and pressing all of which has dramatical imprived under coterrill.

Right to be wary, as we've proved we do well against the bigger teams away but have stumbled against teams out of form away, Wigan springs to mind where we managed to get a point. We will need to weather a storm I think as they do have some good players who on their day can cause any team problems. Barton will def have them up for it.

Reckon Cotterill will get them fired up for this one - don't think he is much admired at Rovers after his tenure at City!! One of my Rovers supporting mates says he once called them a bunch of 'raggedy arsed muppets'!!

Wigan winning there on Tuesday in the 90th minute won't have helped our cause either.
On the Gas Forum, they reckon that 6 points is the absolute minimum required out of their 3 home games against Wigan, Shrewsbury and Burton if they are not to be relegated.

Will be interesting to see what happens with this run of games against teams below us in the table. Part of what's made Cotterill's tenure so remarkable is how many of our wins have come against top teams, and if the game plan of solidity first can translate to wins against some of the weaker sides in the league then we really could be onto a winner.

I suspect that the pitch may be in something of a state, as it usually seems to be when we’re down there. I also suspect that the game will be a bit of a slog similar to the Accrington game last week, and we may be relying on something from Chapman or Whalley to turn a potential one point into three.

We have how won 9 games this season, but only 2 have been against sides in the bottom 10. This is partly down to the fact that most of our games against those 10 teams took place before “our upturn in form”.

It just feels however, that we have a bit of a history of serving ourselves up for a shoeing for those who are down on their luck.

Looking at the Rovers forum they obviously fear Chapman and some are suggesting that they look at signing him at the end of the season. I think our chances of signing him are nil and Rovers chances are less than that.

I fancy the same side to go again unless Love is injured, & I’d suspect the natural replacement in Sears to replace him.
What are the chances of Steve nipping into the team hotel tonight to give a 5minute speech to the squad?

I'm not getting carried away. Another 13 points for safety is the number Juan priority. If we get there, then we can go for it with nothing Toulouse.
I wouldn't be surprised to see us on tele before the end of the season.

Just nice to be heading into each and every game thinking we're in with a decent chance of three points. Could get used to this...

Just nice to be heading into each and every game thinking we're in with a decent chance of three points. Could get used to this... Barton is a shrewd operator. We never did well against Fleetwood. I was near to Mangan when he used his mobile to alert Barton in the 1st few minutes of the home game with Fleetwood to point out the weakness of Ryan Giles' defending on the left. We lost 0-3.

If we are looking at a late run to the play offs we need to be winning games like this without much doubt.
If however we are looking at mid table and staying up with some games to spare then a draw away at a team below you in the 2nd half of the season is just fine.
Happy to avoid defeat, but with an eye on all 3 points if we can.

Four points from the next two games should be enough to calm the nerves for this season considering who were playing? As long as the Vella Norburn Chapman combination are on the pitch we have a chance against anyone in this league. If four points were obtained maybe we could throw caution to the wind with ten to go and risk a defeat to get sixth place? Certainly wouldn't complain if we didn't, but must be a thought if ten ish games to go were as good as safe you can take risks to blag sixth place?

Reporting on the Rovers Fans Forum that rovers will be wearing their away kit tomorrow - as there is a clash with both of our kits. We will be wearing 'blue and amber'. Don't we have a third kit?

My youngest did her degree in Bristol, love the place and always took a local game when visiting, either City or Rovers. I can remember the 2018 game, a great Rodman run and Nsiala winner in the 88 minute!! Happy Days, would love some of the same, but a point would suffice COYB's

19 games left, 10 of which are at home, 13 or 14 points to be safe. I really think some on here are being ultra pessimistic, even thinking we could go down. I will be mildly disappointed now if we fail to finish in the top half.
