stuck at home during lock down, watched 2 good films, this week end, oddly both films both called "the dig" and both well worth a look i watched the dig last night, i remember doing something about sutton hoo at school and remembered it was a viking ship but it was good to learn a bit more, i did a bit of homework this morning seeing what was true and what was changed, and found a half hour doc on you tube about the finds like you i struggle to find something decent to watch, i have a bad habit of using IMDB and refusing to watch any movies rated less than 7 amazon prime is a pain, the times i find something and then realise i have to pay for it, i cancelled sky movies months back, nothing much new getting added, and the search facility just throwing pay to watch movies in your face speaking of sky i have sky Q anyone else who whos got it find that the remote contol is an absolute pain ?, you only have to look at it and it changes channel

Don’t watch many films, but BBC2 had one of my favourite films Sunday pm - The Train - great WW2 film with a difference and filmed in B&W even though filmed in 1964 I believe. Starred Burt Lancaster.

As foreign language films go I've been told 'Parasite' is up there is one of the best ever made.
I watched a film recently about a family Winnebago holiday in the US who's daughter goes missing.....forget the name but utter garbage tbh.
Watched the The Dig, last night, it was ok, didn't blow me away.
Best thing ive seen recently was short series on netflix.....'Lupin', absolutely superb.

Parasite is excellent - managed to see that at the cinema before lockdown last year!!
The winebago film you mention (The Vanished?) - I think we watched that on Netflix Saturday evening. I concur with you absolute rubbish - though the ending did explain some of the more inplausible moments.

I watched 'White Tiger' on Netflix on Saturday. I read the book last year and really enjoyed it. Film was really good too. One to watch with someone as it's one to discuss afterwards. Similar to Parasite in that you end up thinking about morals etc afterwards. Rated as 7.2 on imdb!

Parasite is excellent , isn’t quite how I expected it to turn out though . Found Lupin on Netflix recently , thought Id give it a go. Really pleased I did , very clever . I cannot wait for the next series , I agree , superb . I’m also waiting for Ozark to come back on . Now that series is something else . Absolutely brilliant I think .

My wife and I watched John Wick over the weekend. I have no idea whether there is any Guinness Book of Records entry for most kills in a film but if there is, this one must have a fair chance. It's crazy.

Would have to agree about Ozark. Absolutely brilliant first series. Just hoping the second series is not a let down. The Dig plods along quite nicely. Its British and I will watch anything British. Few and far between new British films though.

Recent film watches are The White Tiger, The Dig (both Netflix) and Twist (Sky), probably ranked in that order. I do miss a good cinema release though.

It's crazy. thats another bug bear of mine, i struggle to watch far fetched films, bloke dodging 20 guys firing at him with machine guns and then his car blows up as he jumps out of it is usually the point where i turn off on the other hand if the film is meant to be far fetched then there are exceptions to the rule, green mile for example

Just had a quick look see at what that Ozark is about, looks good and will give that one a go I reckon. Don't mind that Jason Bateman, very watchable. And a proud owner of a Town top too I'm sure.

Pieces of a Woman (on Netflix) is very good with a superb performance by Vanessa Kirby. Having said that, it deals with the aftermath of losing a baby so would best be avoided by anyone who had been affected by such a tragedy.

Also awaiting season 6 of the superb 'Better Call Saul' - I understand that is also going to be the final series. Once that has been done - will revisit 'Breaking Bad'.

Wouldn't say that Bateman was a 'proud' owner of a Town shirt, by all accounts I don't think his mother was all to complimentary about her hometown when she moved to the States and passed that to her son. I guess he chucked that shirt the minute he left the GMTV studios. Bateman is good in Ozark but the Trailer park girl in it steals the show as far as acting goes, think she won Golden Globe last year for best supporting.

Few and far between new British films though. If you haven’t seen series 2 & 3 of Ozark yet then you need to get on it. The series goes from strength to strength and the development of the main characters is astonishing. The end of series 3 was a genuine ‘ ‘ what the actual ****’ moment. Stunning

Game of Thrones will always remain one of the all time great tv shows, definitely worth a rewatch, or watch if you’ve never seen it.

Stunning Sorry just realised I am up to date to end of Series 3. I was a late starter and watched them all over a period of a couple of months from series one straight through. Very difficult to turn off.

There have been a number of 5 star films on the Beeb in the last couple of months. Recorded to re-watch later. Started off with Rio Bravo (Howard Hawks) and one of the best westerns ever made.

Watched Tenet with my son - he loved it but I found it very confusing as a lot of the action involves characters from the future going backwards.

I loved Breaking Bad and binge watched it during the first lockdown however, Better Call Saul is even better. You don't need to have watched Breaking Bad prior to viewing Better Call Saul because the story stands alone however, BCS does have a greater depth and intrigue if you have seen BB because you get to understand the back story to a number of key characters. Can't wait for the final series. Just working my way through Ozarks so no spoilers please
