As foreign language films go I've been told 'Parasite' is up there is one of the best ever made. I watched a film recently about a family Winnebago holiday in the US who's daughter goes missing.....forget the name but utter garbage tbh. Watched the The Dig, last night, it was ok, didn't blow me away. Best thing ive seen recently was short series on netflix.....'Lupin', absolutely superb. Parasite is excellent , isn’t quite how I expected it to turn out though . Found Lupin on Netflix recently , thought Id give it a go. Really pleased I did , very clever . I cannot wait for the next series , I agree , superb . I’m also waiting for Ozark to come back on . Now that series is something else . Absolutely brilliant I think . Jason Bateman is a Town fan.

Just had a quick look see at what that Ozark is about, looks good and will give that one a go I reckon. Don't mind that Jason Bateman, very watchable. And a proud owner of a Town top too I'm sure. Wouldn't say that Bateman was a 'proud' owner of a Town shirt, by all accounts I don't think his mother was all to complimentary about her hometown when she moved to the States and passed that to her son. I guess he chucked that shirt the minute he left the GMTV studios. Bateman is good in Ozark but the Trailer park girl in it steals the show as far as acting goes, think she won Golden Globe last year for best supporting. The trailer park girl called Ruth Langmore is played by Julia Garner . She is brilliant . My favourite is Jacob Snell played by Peter Mullan , a fine Scottish actor who , to my surprise plays Michael in the BBC 2 series MUM . I loved MUM because it stars Lesley Manville and I do like Lesley I have to say .😉

Those who love Wire, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Ozarks won't put a foot wrong if they wind back and crank up The Americans... stunning TV

Film4, 9pm tonight has The Nice Guys, with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.
Simon Blackwell, whose screenwriting CV includes Veep, Back, The Thick Of It, Peep Show, David Copperfield and Four Lions, described it this morning as fantastic and one of the funniest comedies of the last several years.
That'll do for me - can't watch it at the time but primed to record.

Had the displeasure of watching "The Astronaut" on Saturday. An hour and a half of over-sentimental garbage with no reward at the end of it all.

Found Ozark a bit hard to believe, and got extremely tired of Laura Linney saying ‘you know, in politics, we have a saying....’
The Wire, Better Call Saul, Succession, The Sopranos, Deadwood are all great shouts and very much worth your time.

If you love a bit of action & sci-fi then 'Snowpiecer' seems good so far, I'm on S1 episode 2 but apparently season 2 is airing now.....all on netflix.
Set in a 2021 whereby the earth has frozen over to -100 and a 1000 carriage train circumnavigated the globe with the last humans alive.

Last night watched “ The NightStalker “ on Netflix . It was the latest Netflix documentary about a serial killer in Los Angeles mainly . Unbelievable , it seemed as if he was intent on decimating the local population . It is in 4 parts but we binged watched the whole series . The last episode is just unbelievable . Worth a watch but will now watch something a little bit more light hearted . Truth really is stranger than fiction .

I watched that last week, chilling.....the killer was just pure evil, his eyes looked like the devil incarnate. I do believe some people are cursed that way in the way some are touched by angels (Capt Sir Tom). I really would recommend 'Snowpiercer' if you like suspense thrillers etc. Shows what humanity can do to itself let alone the planet.

I'd also recommend watching it but perhaps consider when you do get around to doing so, it didn't half put a downer on our Saturday night I can tell you. As Severn suggests, best have something a little bit more light hearted to watch afterwards...

I watched Greed with Steve Coogan last week which was ok but nothing more, I don’t often have the patience to watch films but are there any decent new British films knocking about?

We watched "Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel" last night, not sure if you have watched that already? Focusing on the tragic death of Elisa Lam but also on the hotel in which she disappeared, the area in which it is situated, the investigation and the so called "online sleuths". It's a little longer than needs be I would say in four parts and they clearly leave things that you are asking about from the get go until the final episode but its worth a watch.

Don’t watch many films, but BBC2 had one of my favourite films Sunday pm - The Train - great WW2 film with a difference and filmed in B&W even though filmed in 1964 I believe. Starred Burt Lancaster. An excellent WW2 film, if that's your cup of tea👍, along with "Von Ryan's Express" (Frank Sinatra, Trevor Howard) which also has the bonus of featuring railways.

I don't think you see too many second world war films these days but Fury is decent enough. That is also available on Netflix.

Don't know if any of you take a peep at the Sky Arts channel, but there are some very good documentaries on there called " discovering ??". Gives a good insight into various film stars. Watched a couple this week about Burt Lancaster & Humphrey Bogart and recorded another about Henry Fonda. A very enjoyable watch if you wish to know more about some truly 'great' actors.

I'll certainly keep a look out for the " discovering..." documentaries.
