Those working in education who will be processing all the lateral flow tests (3 per pupil over the next two weeks) are now able to book a jab. Won't have their anti-bodies built up my Monday of course, but better than nothing.

Spoke to a British friend of mine the other day who lives in the Irish Republic. No vaccines on the horizon for them until autumn. Many are trying to get vaccinated across the border in the north and with some success apparently. News which is never covered in mainstream media.

Abso bloody lately. Cannot beleive what an absolute shambles they have and still are making over getting their folks vaccinated. It just shows what we were linked into, thankfully not any longer.

There's been plenty about vaccination in Europe and around the world in The Guardian and I dare say other outlets have covered it. It's unlikely to feature on the UK-centred broadcast news and as for the tabloids .... is there a royal connection?

Another great benefit of leaving the EU. would be interesting to see the result if we were to have another vote I feel it might be a bigger win for leave Fancy backing up negative attitudes to the EU by doing everything we can to vaccinate Europe, starting with the Irish Republic? Now that we are out, the demise of the EU, but a rise in co-operation with the countries of Europe is in our best interests.

I see vaccine politics continuing with the European council saying we are blocking exports which is something we have denied

I see vaccine politics continuing with the European council saying we are blocking exports which is something we have denied Yes, and vaccine politics can work both ways. We are in a good position, without even jeopardising our vaccine rollout we will be able to supply all they want soon. So let's take advantage by doing so. Even "at cost" it would not do our balance of trade any harm to be exporting to the EU. In addition, provided the populations of Europe have decided they want to be vaccinated then it can't do us any harm to make the EU leaders look foolish while chumming up with European countries.

I see vaccine politics continuing with the European council saying we are blocking exports which is something we have denied the irony is the EU have banned the export of vaccines to Australia and also threatened to ban exports of pifzer to uk and have the legislation in place to do do. i do wish the EU and UK could behave better with each other neither will benefit from this. "on a BBC new item on this subject " European Council President Charles Michel made this claim that uk had banned the export of vaccines to EU , later he said it was a de facto ban , then he said he claimed credit for potentially provoking the British government into being more transparent about its rules on exports of coronavirus vaccines and medications." www.politico.eu/article/uk-hits-out-at-eu-over-claim-it-has-banned-vaccine-exports/" European Council President Charles Michel accused the U.K. of blocking the export of coronavirus vaccines." "In a tweet late Tuesday, Michel did not repeat his prior allegation of an “outright ban” on vaccines, nor did he retract it or apologize, but instead angled to claim credit for potentially provoking the British government into being more transparent about its rules on exports of coronavirus vaccines and medications." www.theguardian.com/society/2021/mar/09/raab-summons-eu-official-as-anger-grows-over-uk-vaccine-export-claims" dominic Raab has summoned the EU’s UK representative amid government fury over claims by the president of the European council that the UK has banned exports of vaccines, which the government says are entirely false."

The one thing that did make me laugh was the accusation of us banning it, whilst stating that the EU have a system in place to 'control' their exports. Politics at its finest "Britain and the U.S., he said, "imposed an outright ban on the export of vaccines or vaccine components produced on their territory."
"But the European Union, the region with the largest vaccine production capacity in the world, has simply put in place a system for controlling the export of doses produced in the EU," Michel wrote in his “newsletter to citizens” sent out on Tuesday"
