I only learnt via Facebook that the over 60 s could get their jab, so I went online and booked it for last Friday and booked the second one too. I still haven’t had any notification from my GP so as others have said go online and book your first and second vaccination. It’s quick and easy and you get to choose date and time.
I had the Oxford jab. Arm still sore today. I felt ok Friday, Saturday I woke at 3am sore arm and bad head, so paracetamol. Rest of Saturday after I got up I didn’t feel unwell, but I didn’t feel right, but as I use my Saturdays as a rest day to watch the footy it didn’t really bother me and I was out walking in the lovely sunshine Sunday.

Maybe it is only me, but how come folks are still getting Covid?
Only a year into this, now!
Beggars belief.

Just had mine at Chester racecourse...very efficient I must say. They are certainly geared up for larger numbers. It was very quiet when I went.

Cheers though. good to hear ps so symptoms of covid 4 are toothache ? Pretty short self isolation then, before everything is OK? Think it is 7 days. Where did the Mrs get it from do you think? Great you didn't get it too !! And hope you didn't spread it? Could the Mrs have given it to all the wonderful volunteers ?? Have you got an example of the Test and Trace effort / system actually working in your infection? Did they ring you and everyone up?

The test and trace system worked well, as soon as the she put her test results in the app, my phone alerted within 5 mins. She works for a care company, and thinks she got it from one of her clients, but they were all traced. Overall the system seemed to work efficiently and as i hoped and expected

Hopefully this means we should start catching up soon... Covid: Germany to approve AstraZeneca vaccine for over-65s
Merkal has stated that by the end of this month/April the vaccination rollout will ramp up big time. So we're gearing up for a big push in vaccinations here in Germany. Good news anyhow if this is the case. Fingers crossed.

I suppose if it is given the all clear for the over 65's there maybe calls for Merkel to take the AstraZeneca vaccine again. She declined last time because she is 66 (and so was following the correct guidance). That might be asked of her again now. As for the wider population, there is for sure a stigma against the AstraZeneca vaccine here in Germany and elsewhere too. But you would hope that once they do get things rolling there will be enough who come forward to take the AstraZeneca vaccine. Maybe, hopefully anyhow. As there are of course huge numbers who don't want any vaccine forced on them. And there many who want to choose which vaccine they are to take. From what is being said I reckon I'll be given an appointment in April. So not that far off.

A classic misuse of statistics along the lines of "There is not enough evidence the AZ is any good for the over whatevers" Well, there wouldn't be, I doubt that many over whatevers were involved in the trials, can't see why being over whatever should make much difference though - and, now that the over whatevers have been vaccinated, surprise, surprise, the evidence comes in. Classic misuse of statistics when you didn't have any AZ and wanted to dampen demand. Trouble is it leaves a lasting mistrust of AZ when you have some and need people to have it.

But someone we know who is 58 has booked both today so maybe it's just 58 and 59 year olds. EDIT - SHE HAS JUST TRIED AGAIN FOR 3RD TIME TODAY AND ITS LET HER BOOK NOW. HAVING FIRST ONE TOMORROW AFTERNOON. SO ANYONE 55-60 SHOULD LIKELY GET A SLOT NOW.

I’ve heard of quite a few people in their 40s without underlying health conditions being offered slots in Shrewsbury this week so worth keeping an eye on email or phone.
